Would you buy a gun or accessory from this man?

sigfreundWould you buy a gun or accessory from this man?
I mean, what’s with this guy advertising a handgun shooting accessory?*
Yeah: bald/shaven head, beard, bulky arms, snipers’ friends reflective sunglasses, but not a single visible tattoo‽‽‽
Come on, SIG: Diamond plate; rainbow finishes; bogus, imitation P225s; guns that kill us in our sleep, not to mention all the baby ducks they slaughter at a glance: Maybe we can understand and forgive all that, but a manly man without any tattoos? Where did you even
find such a creature? Or is it just the miracle of Photoshop at work? Come on, you can tell us.
Yes, there are gun owners who actually don’t have tattoos, but it’s mostly the over-60 crowd—male and female—and I suspect many of us wear long pants and shirtsleeves just so it’s not obvious when we appear in public.
Once again you’re letting us down, SIG. (You don’t actually think you can start an advertising trend, do you, now?)

casRefreshing.
Not that I'd buy a SIG from

lymanad pic is pretty much a stereotype,
maybe what they were going for,
working the gunshow circuit here in VA, (at NGS now) dude in the pic is at 4-6 tables now and has a dozen or more doppelgangers walking about too,
to carry the stereotype farther, and with tongue planted firmly in cheek, bet he drives a Dodge Hemi, car or truck,

trapper189Anybody that guy's size and shape is on the shoot first list should I find myself in a defensive situation against such a person. No way I'm going hand to hand with that guy.
Is that guy using a gun an effective marketing tool? Not for me. To me it says you have to be this guy to use our firearms. Hickok45 would be effective.

BeancookerSigfreund, I know you’re being sarcastic, but I’ll counter with, maybe he’s smart and didn’t get tattooed…
If I could snap my fingers and all my tattoos would disappear, I’d do it in a second. I really wish that I was ink free. I looked into removal, however, they’re too big-far too much coverage to remove, not to mention the cost, and it would never look normal. (Both arms are sleeved).
What seemed like a good idea in my 20’s and 30’s…

sigfreundA post like this will always result in misunderstandings, but it wasn’t to criticize tattoos. I have had opinions about many faddish practices throughout my many decades, and tattoos are no exception. But precisely because they are so popular, it really did strike me as odd to see a man in that type of common firearms-related ad who wasn’t visibly inked. And I really do wonder why that was. All the other things I mentioned above are all but mandatory to present a certain image these days, so why not the last: tattoos? Was it an unthinking inadvertent omission, or a conscious decision for some reason—and if the latter, what reason?

casPerhaps SIG is trying to infer long term quality as opposed to short term fashion fads. Some people view tattoos as bad choices. Is buying a SIG also a bad choice?
Ahahahaha....

rat2306SIG is saying, look at the product and not the tattoos.
Never got a tattoo myself; back in the day there was stuff going around called Hepatitis B, HIV, and sepsis among others. Not for me. I could go for a nice Hemi Challenger though.

Green HighlanderSig does not need to have tattoos on the model since they now engrave them on the slides. Their new INK collection is so edgy. I don’t know how my life was complete before they released this.

Wait forty years and see what it looks like.

BassamaticYeah, I'd buy a gun from him.

sigfreundAnd of course my original post was sarcasm about how tattoos have become such a common part of certain aspects of American culture, and how dare anyone tamper with an almost hallowed tradition. Ordinarily, seeing an ink-free guy who had all the other characteristics as the man pictured above would be even more unexpected than seeing a strong, competent “white” (real) male family father figure in a modern teevee commercial.

fischtown7When I got my tats (2) I was in the Army and it was still frowned upon, so they are under my t-shirt unseen. Seemed cool when I got them but now one of the stupider things I done. I appreciate the artwork and mine are not bad but just something I would not do again.

AugenWell everything in sales is about trends.
So when is the trans Sig going to be released?
To each his own but all I can do is shake my head, say good grief, and go back to my German p228.
July 20, 2025, 11:08 AM
.38supersigWell, He doesn't need any tats since Sig put those billboard letters on every slide (and Legion logos everywhere when given the chance).
VA FIVE!
'Cuz everybody in the marketing department knows that the letter X has magical powers that boosts quarterly sales by 500%.
Umm... No.
