Black92LXNever fails, loose something for an extended time so you buy anothe and guess what you find.
Lost the fancy $50 Braun ear thermometer for a few weeks. So used the old fashioned one that takes a long time. Finally sucked it up and ordered another on Amazon. Not even 15 minutes later wife found the old one hidden in the couch. Guessing the older boy hid it as he always fusses when his temp needs to be taken. Luckily I was able to cancel the order.
Haven’t seen the bedroom TV remote in a couple months. Finally got tired of getting up to turn the TV off at night. Ordered a new remote last night. Guess what I found hidden in the chair cushion? The remote was $6.50 so I’ll just have an extra.

AndcommandeI hope I'm not being too much of an ass....but it sounds like you should check your cushions first, lol

Balzé HalzéWell, maybe if you kept that seat cushion "tight" in the chair...

henryaz That's pretty normal for me, scratching my head and walking around the house looking for where I put it "so I could always find it again". For cheaper little items, I buy several and spread them out. Sometimes even that works against me as they all end up in the same hiding place. I've even finally found little-used items up in the attic.

smschulzHappens all the time.
Many times with guns parts lost on the garage floor but most recently with a favorite flashlight, lost it and bought another then found the original.

Pipe SmokerI’ve had that experience too. I usually find the lost item when I’m thinking where to store the replacement. Duh…
Serious about crackers. June 21, 2018, 12:17 PM
YooperSigsLost an expensive Benchmade folder while cutting my elderly neighbors grass. Major search ensued. No joy. Ordered another one. Only to find the missing knife in the washer. Seems it never made it to the neighbors yard after all.
I now have a matching set of Benchmades.

JALLENI always find lost things in the last place I look.
Maybe you ought to try that.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown June 21, 2018, 01:21 PM
Yellow JacketI am the proud owner of four (yes, four) sets of numbered drill bits.
I don't rule out the possibility that in the future I may end up owning five sets.

I found what you said riveting. June 21, 2018, 02:39 PM
cheesegritsI lost one of my favorite Parker pens in the office. The whole staffed searched for it. The pen had been discontinued but I did find one on eBay that was NIB. I finally ordered the replacement pen. I found the missing pen the day before the replacement got here. The missing pen was on the top shelf of a rarely used bookcase. At least I got a good deal on the replacement.

Some ShotI finally bought so many tape measures and spread them around the house and garage that sometimes I'll find groups of two or three of them hanging out together.
Kind of like supervising engineers.

KDRI lost my wedding ring, couldn't find it for 3 months. I bought another and 1 day after the 30 day return window, my original ring fell out of a pair of shoes that I only wear occasionally.

bubbatimeI go to this one persons house one time per year. At Thanksgiving. Lost a nice Spyderco knife. Didn't know what the hell happened to it.
Sitting on their couch one year at Thanksgiving time, my Benchmade knife falls into the couch. I lift the couch cushions to retrieve my Benchmade, and wouldn't you know it, there sits my Spyderco knife I lost last year.

OldMickI have two Surefire E2D Defenders.
I had one, but lost it. Several months later I decided to buy a replacement, but still felt guilty spending the money because I was careless enough to lose it.
And of course, shortly thereafter, I put on a flannel shirt that I rarely wear and there it was, the "lost" one.

AquabirdYep happens to me.
We lost the remote for my wife's Bose Wave.
Ordered a new one and then found the old one next to the Bose!
