I like it. Reminds me of being sixteen. Me and my best friend played in bar pool league. We actually had to have our parents come to the pool hall and give the owners a "permission slip". Was lots of fun, I loved it when I'd beat someone three times my age. The look of anger and confusion combined made me smile. Yep buddy you just got beat by someone who's mom is coming to pick them up after league. I never play anymore, I sort of miss it every now and then. My buddy still plays. My bitch ex-wife stole my pool cue when she moved out. Petty, bet she never even used it, just took it to hurt me. She also took my hobby car too, only thing she asked for in the divorce, just to spite me. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Aren't you glad she didn't ask for your guns. I got mine but she got the house.

Probably. But... you're letting her. Buy a new pool cue and forget about it. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I played a lot of pool when I was in my 20's. I shot in a couple of pool leagues and had a blast doing it. I learned that having 2 beers settled me down and improved my shooting but any more would cause my game to implode. That was great information right there. When I was growing up our pool hall had 8 tables and only one of them was a pool table, the rest were snooker. The pool table was usually covered because no one used it.

Yes. In addition to hunting and fishing, pool is/was something I am passionate about.

I still go over to my bud, Dans house since he has a nice pool table. I usually bring a six pack of my choice to sample. Last week, Founders’ “Dirty Bastard”, Corona the week before. I’m thinking of Guiness and a 40 oz of Bud for a Black and Tan. We have a lot of deep discussions of our younger days, K-date Lugers, my WWII 1911a1s, his Garands, Stens, and superb M1 carbines, my Thompson’s and MP40. It makes something to look forward to. Lots 'o memories here too. Playing Dad when I was a kid, working my butt off to legit beat him that first time. Later in life, betting the girlfriend (now wife) sexual favors. There never is a loser in those! -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

In the '80s I played 4-5 hours a night, 3x or more a week, for a couple of years straight. I'm on my last cube of chalk, but now I use it on instrument pegs.

My brand new, never chalked, Willie Hoppe Pro which I bought from the store at the Brunswick factory in 1959 is over in the corner resting until I decide what to do with it.

As a kid, maybe 12 or so, our town had pool tables in the YMCA which was located in a pretty risky neighborhood. Of course, we didn't care at the time, and they were the only tables outside of the many bars. There were mostly black, elderly men inside who knew pool playing inside and out. They spent many hours teaching me and a friend how to play. To this day if I see a pool table I think back to those days as some of my favorite pool memories were in that place. Those were good people. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

Lucky to be Irish |
Started playing at around 15 or 16. I was probably middle of the road as far as talent goes, but I really enjoyed it. My older brother gave me a two piece cue he picked up somewhere. I thought I was quite the hustler. On a recent trip out west the hotel had a recreation room with pool tables. One day I spent several hours "catching up". You never forget how to play, it seems, but your skills sure deteriorate without practice. Shots I remember making consistently were now generally missed. Fond memories of the people who also played, thanks for posting the photo.

Pool.... a beautiful sport played by ugly people Earl Strickland I’ve played tournaments and leagues since I was too young to legally be in the bar. Many 8plus hour gambling sessions in my younger days. Split recreation time, what there is of it, between pool and golf now. Bought a 9’ Diamond pool table for the basement when we built our house. They make the best tables out there if your ever in the market. If you want to know how serious a pool player is, ask them If they play One Pocket. If they say No, they’re not that serious. If they say What is that?, well, that’s when I usually ask if they gamble. I quit school in elementary because of recess.......too many games --Riff Raff--

I’d love to see some pics of that one! Did you get a hard case with it too? I’ve been known to trade guns for pool cues lol I quit school in elementary because of recess.......too many games --Riff Raff--

Ha. When we started playing for real money$50 games and such a friend of mine told us if anyone asked us to play one pocket just run away. Best advice I ever got. We just weren’t anywhere near as good as we thought we were. Lots of fun and a few sketchy nights/mornings to be had playing pool. __________________________ The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting, it’s not for target shooting … it’s there so that you and I can protect our homes and our children and and our families and our lives. Love the game. I seem to alternate on about a 12-15 year cycle between pool and guns - never completely give-up the one for the other, but concentrate more on the game du jour. IDPA / USPSA / ICORE are my current time wasters (it's OK, I'm retired now), but I find myself in my basement, hitting some balls, more often lately. I was into cue collecting and have about a dozen customs, that I play/played with and 40 or so Brunswicks that date from the 60's & 70's that I collect. While I don't gamble, I did play quite a bit of one pocket - like chess on a pool table. Here's my current set-up... Adios, Pizza Bob NRA Benefactor Member
