And I too have no information specific to this, but I would bet a weeks salary that they have had a tracker on this guy for a while. They know where he’s been, and where he is coming from.

I can't speak for the rest of the country, but where I work users have gotten too good at spotting cut dope. Even in fraction of an ounce quantities the labs are reporting purity near 100%. We had a quarter ounce come back recently at 99.9% pure. I don't think I've seen a lab result less than 95% in several years.

Are you talking about meth? It's rare around here. I did see some last week, with what I thought were some huge freakin crystals.

Our cocaine and heroin I would expect to be heavily cut. I haven't read any lab reports on it for at least a couple of years...our cases only get sent to the lab if they are going to trial, and my last dope trial was over two years ago.

If someone is dealing, 5grams of pure meth carries a 5 year mandatory minimum in the fed system, and 50grams carries a 10 year mandatory minimum. So we need a percent purity to show we meet the threshold.

Back in the day we'd get a gangster with a quarter pound, but it might have been stepped on so much it wouldn't reach 50 grams pure. Now we regularly have meth test very close to 100% pure, even when it's fractions of an ounce.
