Do No Harm, Do Know Harm |
I swear...I've driven over a million miles and never managed to get rear-ended...buy a new Jeep and it's been hit twice in the 7 months I've had it Last time we got lucky, no damage. This time it's gonna need a new bumper and tailgate, spare tire, tow hook, and then whatever else is uncovered that I couldn't see. Luckily the kids were OK. My back hurts like a MFer though! Appointment with the Dr. tomorrow early. The dude that nailed us was looking down, I'm sure at his phone, and never looked up before he hit us at 15-20 mph. I was at a stop in traffic and watched it coming behind me through the mirror. Oh...a 40something guy with a revoked driver license and driving his mom's car. At least it was insured and he didn't flee. Filed a claim with my USAA and I plan on speaking with an attorney on this one. Just so damn aggravating. I see at least 3 rear end collisions in the ER every day. Charlotte is lousy with these. That and I guess using your directional signal to change lanes or turn is just a suggestion here cause no one fucking does it. Hope you feel better man. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

I saw a late model Lexus get "sandwiched" at a Tucson intersection last week. Massive front and rear damage - car was totaled. Youngster who rearended the Lexus claimed his "foot slipped off the brake pedal". He said he has GEICO insurance. I felt sorry for the Lexus couple....having to deal with GEICO. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

Maybe you should consider this for your next vehicle; dings wouldn’t be noticed or felt much. --------------------- DJT-45/47 MAGA !!!!! I know the feeling. I got hit making a right turn and the female had no insurance. She told the officer she had State Farm and my Allstate accident called SF and they had no record of her. She never produced an insurance card. She never got towed. My uninsured motorist paid some of my bill but I lost most of the value of my car. Officers lives matter!

That is exactly why I sold my Jeep when my son was small and riding in a car seat. I almost got rear ended by a large SUV going about 40 mph. Luckily, the driver swerved to the shoulder to avoid hitting me. There just isn't enough of a buffer between the back seat and the tailgate.

This one is a JKU, so there’s good room. Still don’t like testing the theory though. Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here. It's not easy being me |
I read this last night, I hope you're OK chongo, and glad the kids are. Sometimes, a vehicle just has bad Karma. I've sold two over the years for this reason. But I've been through at lot of vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs, etc.). The brand new three week old Crown Vic that had a tree fall on it during the Nashville Ice Storm in February, 1994. Insurance didn't total it, they replaced the roof & repainted it. When the warranty was due to run out, I traded it on a new (first year) '97 Expedition. Our Expedition was one of the good ones, as we pretty much drove the wheels off of it, and finally sold it around 2013 for a fair amount. I sold another car after five months, lets just say it had bad, bad Karma.... _______________________________________ Flammable, Inflammable, or Nonflammable.......
