I’ve got a small yard. Whole plot is just over 1/3 acre with the house. So really small yard from and back over all.

Had a yard service that’s gone up in price over years. Going to start doing it myself again to save money. Before I’d have gas go bad before I used it all. So thinking a electric mower, trimmer, blower combo.

Any recommendations? Trying to save money here as I just had to replace my whole AC unit. To the tune of $14K so depleted a lot of cash. This will save me quite a bit I can add back to cash by putting in sweat work.

Thinking maybe a combo around $500 ish?

What does the brain trust recommend?

Unless you catch an off-season bundle sale you are going to have a hard time finding the usual implements at a $500 price point, $800 is about the best you are going to do, and these will not be top-of-the-line models.

That said, the Ryobi line seems to be the most cost-effective, HD is currently offering a package, mower+trimmer+blower+2 batteries for $777. One of the nice things about Ryobi is that their trimmer power head accepts multiple "Expand-It" attachments that extend its usefulness at a lower aggregate cost. Ryobi has two main battery powered lines of products, the 40V and the 18V "One+," the latter seems to have more tool options, but the former seems to be more sturdy and, perhaps, aimed at harder use. I am happy with my Ryobi 40V tools, but I don't have the mower. Realize that once you buy into a line, you are committed to that line as maintaining two battery systems is expensive and a PITA.

Of the various manufacturers, the one I hear consistently good things about about is the E-go line. However, these seem to be significantly more expensive than Ryobi, Makita, Milwaulkee, Toro, etc. for all of which I have seen mixed reviews.

I have the Ego brand push mower, trimmer, chain saw and blower.

I absolutely love it. I’m in my second year of fairly steady use and have had absolutely zero problems. Love the trimmer the most because it never gets hot (and stinky) like the gas models do. The battery also lasts about as long as I want to weed eat in one setting. I put the battery on charge (even though I have multiple batteries charged) and go in the house and cool off. Which is exactly what I am doing right now.

Ryobi whisper series mower here. Pricey but does great for my 1/2 acre.
Also got a blower, separately, so I'd have 4 batteries & 2 chargers, vs 2 batt 1 chgr with a combo pack.

Home Depot has a new "special buy of the day" every day and electric mowers are common on there. To see what they have, click on "specials and offers" then "special buy of the day". Sometimes they have so e great deals and you might find something within your range (I've seen Ego and Ryobi mowers on there).

I bought Milwaukee and it is way over your budget.

I was able to get the Ryobi mower that holds 2 40v batteries, the trimmer, and a blower for a little over $900.

I bought an Ego a few years ago, when Home Depot was selling the self-propelled model for $499 (less 10% for Veteran discount). It has been absolutely fine, I would not hesitate to recommend it.

So easy to use, that with my increasing mobility limitations, my wife grabs it and does the lawn quickly and easily.

Anyone have experience with these:
Greenworks 48V (2x24V) 20" Cordless Battery Mower, 10" String Trimmer, & 320 CFM Blower Combo Kit w/ (2) 4.0Ah Batteries, (1) 2.0Ah Battery & Chargers

For $500 it seems to have pretty decent reviews on Amazon. Looked at a bunch of third party reviews on youtube. Seemed to be %99 positive.

I can only speak for the Kobalt 40V stuff, I don't have a mower though. I have the weed whacker, blower, edger and the pole saw. They are awesome

I have experience with Greenworks stuff, albeit not the mower.

I have the string trimmer, a 14" chainsaw, and two batteries. The chainsaw will work harder than I want to & I use the trimmer to knock down weeds up at the cabin. Both batteries are still going strong at about two years old.

If I decide to cut my own grass here in town, I'd likely get the Greenworks mower to use the same batteries across the board. They haven't let me down.

EGO makes some of the top rated/selling mowers, they have several options, Lowes, Ace Hardware sell them.

Whatever brand you get, get all the implements from the same company so all the batteries are interchangeable.

You may be able to buy an extended warranty at Lowes that extends Egos battery warranty to 7 years.

Thanks! At least someone who's used the Greenworks products. It's helpful plus seeing the ranking chart thingy.

I bought the Greenworks 80V mower for Dad's place last year. Works very well.

Somehow, one of the levers got pushed when I stored it and ran down one of the batteries. I called the company to ask about it - they shipped a replacement battery out that same week. I remove the batteries now when not using it.

I'd recommend the higher voltage (not the 24V unit). Costco has them and puts them on sale each year.

The ranking is done by Consumer Reports - my go to source when I don't know anything about a particular product.

I screen shot the highest rated ones and stopped once I finally saw some that were more budget friendly for you.
