Ohio Pheasant season is open!

Sock Eating GoldenOhio Pheasant season is open!
Two days in the field with my dad, five birds in the bag, countless new stories created.
Unfortunately, my brother couldn't make it this year as he's working in Georgia at the Vogtle power plant. Though I'm thinking about a four day weekend in Georgia for the quail opener.
If any Ohio members want to hook up for a day in the field, let me know. We've seen more birds this year than ever before. Plus Bulleit is always up for more field time.

coloradohunter44Looks like you had a great time. Dogs are the reason to go afield for sure.

GustoferI grew up hunting pheasants and huns after school every day. Me and my Brittany would hit the fields around our house until it got too dark to see. They were packed full of birds.
Those fields are subdivisions now.

We usually hunt the released birds at Berlin Wildlife area.

IronbuttAre yours in OH still wild or are they stocked? PA stocked them for a while, but they were so dumb that more of them ended up dead on the road than in game bags.
Pheasants have been my favorite quarry since I started hun ting 62 years ago. They've grown pretty scarce in this part of PA over the last decade or so, but it's still nice to be able to take the dog & the gun for a walk in the beautiful October weather.

Jrflyfish1I am interested. I live Euclid. Have a pup I would like to get out and work. Hit me up on my cell 216-704-six816. I’ll bring the woodford. Have had plenty luck at Berlin. Ever try charlamont in Lorain?
