I started a warranty claim on a Marlin rifle and Marlin scheduled a UPS pick-up at my house. But since I was not going to be home, I decided to take it to UPS and ship it myself. I asked the UPS lady to cancel the pick up but she said she couldn't - but to leave a note on my front door telling the driver that the package was already shipped and that there was nothing to pick up. I did that.

Today, I had a package delivered from Amazon. A $10 phone cord in a padded manilla envelope.

That Amazon package was sitting on my porch when the UPS driver showed back up. Instead of reading my note, he picked up my Amazon package and took it with him leaving me a receipt.

I was able to call UPS and they are bringing it back. But I think the whole thing is funny. I have to admit it would be funny to see the look on the guy's face at the Marlin unloading dock when he gets a package that's supposed to be a .44 Magnum and it is just a $10 phone cord.

Daughter ordered a coat from college, had it addressed to be delivered here. She got a text from DHL that the package was undeliverable as there was no such address.

DHL has delivered here before, no idea what their problem is.

Can’t cancel a pickup? The computer system doesn’t have that capability? Huh?

Another reason I prefer FedEx......
