In these days of shitty products that don't live up to their claims, it's refreshing to find one that does even better than what's written on the box.

I've used various brands of "4-hour" fire logs, and they always struggled to really last to 4 hrs. By 3 - 3.5 hrs, the fire already started to subside. But this new brand, Pine Mountain, really lasts 4 hrs and beyond. Way beyond. And the fire remains strong. All the way to almost 5 hrs. And, it's made in the USA. Gotta love it!

What's your "works better than advertised" product?

I have two very light weight nylon mesh shopping bags that I purchased in A Phoenix Arizona Wal Mart 25 years ago.
Paid $2.29 each.

That have paid for themselves a dozen times.
Will hold four gallons of water.
Hands down the best money I've ever spent at Wal Mart.

P.s. :
And if course NO they don't carry them any more.

I have a Patagonia fleece jacket that is over 30 years old. It has always been one of my go to jackets. I finally just put a new zipper on it last year.

Not to toot my own post, but I think Mr. Monkey is asking for current products, not those that require a time machine to procure…

“In these days of shitty products” etc.

I bought one of those vent cleaning brush things from the 'As Seen on TV' shelf in Walmart.

Works like a charm - mind our vent run is pretty straight.

I also got an 'ID Police' ink stamp, which also worked as advertised, although it didn't last and dried out after 3 months.

I buy two pallets of (somewhat) locally made "Presto" logs every year. They are basically compressed sawdust, like a really big pellet.
240 logs/pallet. I can throw 2-3 of them on at night and there will still be coals enough to get more going the following afternoon when I get home from work. I love 'em. They put out a ton of heat and last forever. A lot easier and cleaner than regular firewood, though I still burn some of that as well.

I think Q is referring to products purchased in recent years, not 30, 25, or even 10 years ago.

For me, Seiko makes excellent wall clocks, I have purchased two in the last couple of years, and they are accurate and run a long time on just one AAA battery.

Kind of pricy, but early this year, my wife and I purchased dual Wolf wall ovens (one convection, one steam) and they are night and day better than the GE ones we had. Temps are accurate, cooking options are numerous, and they vastly improve the quality of the baking and roasting of foods, even frozen pizza turns out better than before. They perform beyond our expectations.

I recently bought the new remix of The Beatles Revolver album on CD and was blown away how different and better it sounds now. Giles Martin (son of George) used A.I. technology to separate all of the instruments, vocals, etc. and put it back together again in a whole new mix, definitely lives up to its hype.

Tikka advertises that their T3x TAC A1 rifles will shoot sub-MOA five-shot groups with proper ammunition. If “sub” could mean 0.99 MOA, then mine definitely do better than advertised.

I bought an El Cheapo sling on Amazon for my new AR as a temporary thing while I looked over the high dollar slings. 9 bucks. With the QD swivels, even.
Excellent sling, as it turns out. Works great. I may skip the big name sling now.

That spray rubber stuff they advertise on TV? The one they guy used to float a door with a screen bottom? It works great. I had a real problem with my AC drain line. I simply could not stop the leak at a couple of joints. I gave it a good spray, problem solved. Same think with a leaking garden hose and a leaking kids wading pool. None of the applications were high pressure, but it sure was nice to get rid of a couple of nagging problems.

The Columbia brand jackets with the aluminum foil looking (not feeling) inside liner. They are inexpensive and incredibly warm for their size.

I don't even know what to call these things and I refuse to use such a silly brand name, but these things work better than they have any right to.

My mother tends to buy... not the most sensible things. She's given my wife and I some head scratchers for gifts over the years. When she sent a bag full of these, my wife said "great, more silly shit we're never going to use" and put them in a kitchen drawer. There they sat for months, maybe a year. We kept using the weaksauce bag clips she had a whole drawer full of. One day, I saw them in the drawer and called my mother and asked them what they were for. I followed her instructions, and the bag of chips I used it on stayed fresh until we were done with it. We haven't used a bag clip for anything we can use these on since. I've had stuff not go stale for over a month after opening.

Since I have to take a blood-thinner prescription drug (along with aspirin), every little cut or scrape has been a major aggravation. The Celox blood-clotter medicine works much better than I thought it would.

I don’t think I’m picky but I’ve not come across such a product recently. I have found some great values. Like a flannel shirt and thermal shirt combo for $15 at Costco. I bought 2 as I didn’t like the third color combination. I bought 2 more thermals off Amazon for $20 each.

I wanted to buy a type of a folding chair I bought in Costco back in 2006 for $30. They now sell for $50. It recently went on sale for $40. I scarfed up my limit and got other people to place an order for me.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Those magic erasers are magic.

My USCG issued all weather parka..it’s just a gortex outer and a zip out liner…but for the money it’s lasted 20 years so far…so GORTEX for the win.

Those write in the rain pens and pads…I used them when I was a cop and they are excellent and worth the money

Mrs mike says, otter box phone protection. I can attest to them..I’m dropping mine constantly
