bobtheelfdo you have a passcode on your iphone.
I don't know if iPhones have a similar feature but on android phones you can enable a lockdown feature that will require the pass code even if biometrics are enabled. Most of the time you just need face or fingerprint, but if you set it to lockdown then biometrics aren't enough.

I have an android and I think that's the same as just powering the phone off.
I can do Lockdown pretty fast if the phone is on and in my hand.
If not, I hold the power button down for 4-5 seconds using only one hand.

As Q mentioned earlier, same with iPhones. Power off, then lock code must be entered.
Power off by holding side button and up volume button.
Or, “Hey Siri, restart.”

P250UA5Samsung Galaxy, fingerprint unlock and a 14 character pwd that's required after too many failed fingerprints and about once/wk.
