Flash-LBMorning. Sleep past 5AM or so and you've wasted the best part of the day.

straightshooter1Been retired for pushing 15 years, never, ever thought I’d live that long. Wake most mornings at 530, maybe once a week sleep a little later.
Have/had some health challenges, lost a number of friends that I expected would come to my funeral, but I had to go to theirs.
Sometimes a little tough to do certain physical things, but, overall, living a great life.
Wonderful family, have a few regrets, but overall, having/had a great life.

6gunsI'm newly retired and still have trouble admitting the R word. It's a real adjustment.
As far as getting stuff done, I feel like when I have ambition in the morning, it's a good feeling to accomplish stuff early and makes the day feel longer. I can't always muster the ambition though and then chores get put off til afternoon.

pace40Been retired for 12 years and am completely comfortable with the fact that the only thing I'm good at in retirement is laziness.

BGULLNot an early riser, but not a night owl either. For working in my carport/workshop I either get up earlier or suffer in the heat, or come and surf Sig Forum

flashguyHave been a "night person" all my life, but forced by school and work to follow "morning" rules. My coworkers all knew that it was not a good idea to attempt communication with me prior to 1000 hours. I managed to adjust my work schedule to run from 0930 to 1830 during my later years.
Now that I'm retired, I typically fall asleep around 0300 and get up around 1100, except for Sundays, when I have to be up earlier for church.
My peak time for doing things has always been early afternoon, and I did my best work while employed during those hours. I don't really "do" much now except stuff on the computer.

MikeinNCI’ve been retired for five years. Before that I worked 12 hour days and switched from nights to days every 2weeks…I was all discombobulated. Took me months to be able to sleep right.
So now it’s just two seasons…school where I get up at 0615 , make magical bean juice and drive he kid to school.
And summer, where I sleep in, I usually get up at 0800 and do my chores thru the day…mostly work early in the summer fore it gets hot.

CoolRich59My “night owl” has really come out since retiring.
I usually don’t get out of bed till 9am. If I have anything that needs doing, I like to get it done before evening commuter traffic gets started around 3pm.
But, it often happens that by the time I get up, stumble around, have my coffee, get ready, check email, the paper, and Sigforum, it 5 or 6 o’clock.

Flash-LBOne of the guys I shoot with every week is a retired assistant principal/teacher from New Jersey.
He said he actually tried to move the time school started to 9AM so he could sleep in every day. They turned him down.

YooperSigsI have been a night person all my life. Worked midnights most my career. I just love the night. Now that I am retired, I stay up until around 4AM, then go to bed and get up around 10AM. Nap sometimes during the day.
