DAG Rosenstein just announced he has named as Special Counsel former FBI director Robert Mueller.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

When Mueller was FBI Director, Comey was Deputy Attorney General, and suceeded him at the FBI when Mueller left.

So this crazy shit is not going to end any time soon, is it.

The GOPe is truly going all in on making life as miserable as possible for this nation. All in their idiotic drive to force Trump out.

How stupid. It will take at least 6 months before the stupid office is established and they start hiring people - years and millions of dollars wasted in posturing and grandstanding and no one can articulate what 'crime' is even being investigated. What nonsense - after all of the documented crimes that were allowed to pass with nothing done for the past 8 years. smdh.

Trump need to ask Sessions to reopen the Hillary investigation pronto. Sessions may have recused himself from the Russian thing (STUPID move) but he didn't say anything about Hillary.

Maybe this is a chance to make the investigation confidential again.

The politicians and the intelligence community have seemed so shaded to me. That was my main beef with Comey. Selective disclosure and having politics center on him was not professional.

But, it will probably leave the presidency in limbo for a long time. The President will be weakened by the years of clouding that will ensue.

On the bright side, it will probably be better than what has been going on. I do think the special counsel will not have any patience - or mercy - for leakers. Hopefully, he will also avoid making selective disclosures to drive more politics like Comey did.

Secret subpoenas and processes will be better at this point.

We need Trump, the attack dog.

So, realistically, what does this even mean? I mean seriously. Unless the repubs turn against the President in force, they don't have the votes. What it means is the 24 hour news cycle is now guaranteed to cue up the "I told you so" idiots.

At the end of the day, nothing will happen. I think we all know it.

Each and every day, the Counterfeit News Network invents the next dram.a for Chuckie to be concerned, hurt, or otherwise about. It seems like they invent one thing, it fades away, they go back to Comey. They invent the next drama, it goes away, they go back to Comey. The people who turned out in mass to vote for Trump aren't wavered

Not so, according to the discussions so far.

Mueller is special counsel, not special prosecutor and apparently will take over the existing FBI investigation now bereft of top leadership, both the recused AG and fired Director.

Between Rosenstein and Mueller, this may work out OK.
