My 80 year old mom found out today that she tested positive for Da-Rona...
And she's on day 3 with no fever and no Tylenol! FUCK YOU, WU-FLU!

It took this woman a whopping three days to beat it! She's in Fresno, visiting my sister, and my BIL got sick on Christmas Eve. He looked like death warmed over. He got tested and came back positive three days ago. My niece and nephew got fever and chills.

My mom.... simply had a headache and a minor cough. She had three days of 99˚ to 100˚ fever. She got tested three days ago, which happened to be the day she stopped having a fever. She got word this morning that she was positive.

BIL finally broke fever today and I think my nephew did too. I have to admit, when I found out she had it, I hadn't a worry in the world. This woman is super healthy and most people think she's 65 to 70 years old. People are shocked when I tell them she's 80.

Here she is on the left during a waterfall hike this past summer.

Glad to hear she is doing well.

I tested positive for antibodies and have no idea when I had it. Was likely one of the very early ones before it was really even an known thing.

Very thankful she recovered so fast and had few difficulties with it.

She looks tough, and clearly, she is tough, because the virus got the hell outta there pretty quickly. Nicely done. Cool

My mom got it a nursing home. She has dementia.

God bless her, she pulled through with mild symptoms....essentially a bad cold with headache.

Yours will be fine too I trust.

Should make you feel good that you have good health genes in the family.

Thanks for sharing, nice to read a good China flu experience.

Glad to hear that your mom is doing so well. My Dad also tested positive at age 96. He is in an assisted living facility, and several tested positive. Dad was the only one not to have any symptoms at all. He will be 97 at the end of this month. One tough old guy!

So sorry for your loss.

Dr. Drew Pinsky had it. He says the first few days are like the flu. Most people are done after that. For some, later symptoms are the real danger. I keep a Pulse Oximeter handy to keep an eye on my oxygen saturation. It can start dropping without you noticing. It’s hard to catch back up when that process starts.

OP, very happy for you and your family. Your mom looks great. My mom is 82 and is also still independent.

So sorry selogic.

My condolences selogic. Looks like my BIL turned around and got worse. He’s in the hospital. They gave him remdizivir and he’s getting convalescent plasma tomorrow. His oxygen levels were in the 60’s. He’s back in the 90’s now.

Mom is feeling great and the rest of the household is recovering.

She doesn't look 80, and I'm glad al is good!

I recently worked for a lady that I would have guessed was no older than I, mid sixties. Nope she was 90, absolutely amazed me!!
