A few months ago, my wife hit a deer with her 2012 Honda Odyssey. It had 246,000 miles and we expected to get another four years out of it. We test drove several new Odysseys but they all had a vibration at around 72 mph. The salesmen kept saying it was due to flat spots in the tires Wanting to get away from a minivan, my wife also tested the RAV 4 and 4Runner. She really liked the 4Runner and almost bought one. The practicality, space, gas mileage, and features of the newly designed all wheel drive 2021 Sienna won out. The only regret so far is that we neglected to get one with a spare tire. It seems that dealers don’t order the vans with them even though it is only a $75.00 option. Instead, it comes with a flat repair kit and a 12 volt compressor.

Nice ride! The new design looks awesome. The hybrid is the only option on the Sienna's now correct? .

Nice! Before we got our Highlander back in 2018, we looked at the Sienna. incredible vehicle. The thing that made us go with the Highlander was the Sienna being so large it would have barely fit into the garage. Hindsight is 20/20 but I wish we would've went with the Sienna. _____________

Yes, only hybrid. Also, the all wheel drive system uses an electric motor for the rear wheels. No connection to the main transmission.

Nice looking vehicle. If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

I can’t get over the fact that Toyota is not including a spare tire with vehicles now. Even the little ridiculous temporary donut type wheels are not included? It really comes with a patch kit and a compressor? Wow? Made in Texas, in the good ole' U.S. of A.

Tacoma and Tundra are made in Texas, Sienna is made in Indiana. 2021 has the 2.5 litre 4 cylinder. Believe it gets turbo or twin turbo. Ive read it absolutely romps Honda on fuel economy. I drive the first year 3rd Gen Sienna with 3.5 litre. Its not a V8 but not a weak engine for what it is intended. I do wish they had powered with a optional 4.7 V8.

Sharp looking van OP. They've relocated the shifter to the console instead of dash mount.

It’s not just Toyota the entire industry is headed that way. My last 3 cars didn’t come with one either.

The AWD versions have had no spare since at least the 2004 redesign. They came with "runflat" tires that are supposed to allow for driving on them for while after a puncture. I believe the reasoning for no spare was that there was not enough room underneath with the AWD model. On the Sienna the spare is suspended under the middle of the cabin, much like on a pickup, at least on the second generation.

Congratulations on the new vehicle. I hope your wife enjoys it for many years to come. “There is love in me the likes of which you’ve never seen. There is rage in me the likes of which should never escape." —Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

My experience has been that the hybrids come with a can of run flat and a compressor if you are lucky. It seems the battery packs eat up the room that the donut rides in. Last four cars have had donuts, except for the hybrid versions of the same car.

Very Nice! My wife drives a 2015 Sienna AWD, same color and she loves it. Ours came with runflats and I replaced them w geolander 3 peak all season. No spare either, said no room due to the awd transaxle. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
Interesting....I kind of like that, actually. It seems like kind of an innovative way to provide AWD without the complexity of a transfer case and drive-shaft linkage. And it frees up space in the center of the vehicle for other stuff, and could provide for a lower floor height. Sure, you're trading mechanical complexity for complex electronics and batteries, but you have that with a hybrid already anyway. I like the big center floor mats you have there, too. We had a minivan at one point. Ours was a Chevy Venture...nowhere near as nice as your Sienna...but it was incredibly convenient for hauling kids. One thing I never understood, though, was why manufacturers insist on putting carpet in vehicles that are designed to transport children. IMO a better solution would be to outfit that thing like the back of a squad car...plastic seats and a heavy rubber floor pan with a drain plug in the middle so you could just hose it out after every trip. Would have saved me hours over the lifespan of that vehicle...

I agree. I WAS in the market for a new Sienna. Love the new look. But 4 cylinder hybrid ? I'm now looking at other vehicles. It's a shame because everything else about the vehicle is a winner. A salesman did tell me though that is the direction all vehicles will be going due to government mileage mandates.

The other day I was building out a 2021 Jaguar I-PACE S EV400 (in Firenze Red) and noted on the very LAST page that a Reduced Section Alloy Spare Wheel is a $150 option. That Hybrid you choose looks perfect for road trips / van camping! There are forums devoted to converting the rear into flat living space. And after a couple of years of music festivals, the perfect gift to my bro and s.i.l.

Spare tire is heavy. If it's included in standard equipment, it has to be there for the gov't fuel mileage tests. Make it optional & you gain a bit of mileage.

If performance is your concern, don't sell the hybrid short. Take a test drive. My wife, who sees most traffic in her rear view mirror, has a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid. The hybrid is the most spirited of all RAV4 models, quickest to jump ahead of the pack when the traffic light turns green, and does not yield anything to the gas models at highway speeds. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

248HP and 648 mile range. Wow! Beach camping below P-Cola with only one fill up! Torque is not listed but would you say, unladen, it is jumpy if you want?
