KMitch200Just found out about this on iPhone - using the spacebar
Of the 5000 things I don’t know about iOS…
If you fat finger a web search or post or text AGAIN hold the spacebar and it turns the cursor into a movable “mouse” cursor.
No retyping the whole word!
Now down to 4999 things I don’t know about iOS! This may be old hat to some of you guys but news to me.

P250UA5The same works on Android, or at least on my Galaxy S9+
Neat trick, I always struggle to tap on the right spot for corrections, this is a lot easier.

Going to be used more by men after grilling and drinking beers, but either way it's nice to see the support there for all my pregnant brothers out there.

The thing is, Android phones have had this feature for a while. Apple only introduced it a couple OSes ago.

casWell shit. I wonder when that happened? Something that would have been nice about a decade ago.

stickman428The spacebar trick is great. I had my phone for years before discovering it. I believe it was our member Beancooker who made me aware of this function. Apple makes a great phone but doesn’t necessarily do so good at informing its users of all the neat little tricks and functions that are available.
Another cool trick for Apple iPhone users: while typing, it you shake your phone back and forth you will get a pop up asking you if you want to undo your last action.

Pipe SmokerMy contribution for the iPhone “neat trick that some don’t know of”:
Suppose that you want to find a word or phrase in longish web site. This very thread, for example. Just enter that word or phrase, e.g., “know that” in the browser address window. DON’T HIT RETURN! Instead, just scroll all the way down and see:
On This Page (2 matches)
Find “know that”
Tap >Find “know that”< That’ll take you to the first hit. At the bottom right of the screen there are “up” and “down” pointers to move to previous or next hit.
Serious about crackers. January 29, 2022, 08:55 AM
stickman428^^^^^ this is such a great function. I learned about it last year and it’s just wonderful for finding a specific word or topic in a large body of text on a website.

PykerHere's another:
Go to settings >> accessibility >> touch and scroll down to 'back tap'. Switch it to 'on' and there are numerous selections for what you want your phone to do if you tap the back of it twice or three times.
I have mine set to: 2 = app switcher, 3 = lock screen; but you can pick from a bunch

PASigI discovered that about 2 years ago and yes it’s a game changer.
