Murphy Strikes again, go out to mow and the John Deere deck belt is broken
Went out to mow the lawn this am as I got rained out last evening,

Last week the JD would not start, found the key in the on position for the lights, apparently the grandkids climbing on it turned the key (that's my story and I'm sticking to it),

I put the Drag Specialties motorcycle battery tender on it last week and left it overnight. Checked it in the am the Tender was very warm and didn't show a full charge, so I pulled it to avoid damage to the
tender figuring the battery was kaput.

Surprised me this morning, it fired right up, amazing... however when I put the PTO into gear I got nothing, no blades turning, got under it and found the belt off the drive pulley and it stopped with the big crack in it right where I could see it.

Sumbitch... now I got to pull the deck, interesting shopping local and online.

Local JD dealer 1 OEM $42
Local JD dealer 2 aftermarket Kevlar $42
Home Desperate $39
Lowes $69 - what are they thinking...... unreal

Amazon - $9 to $70 and you can buy it direct from John Deere for $32 delivered, same day...

Decisions decisions.

GX20027 - common belt for a 42 inch deck, just picked it up from the JD place for $42,

After driving there, and finding the tank on E, $82 later, it's a $124 belt LOL, should have just hit the Amazon store for $32 but wanted to get out and support local stores.

It's not difficult mechanically, it's crawling around on the garage floor that's a pain literally

I need a lift, went ahead and swapped in the sharp blades while the deck was out.

Will take the others to ACE, for $5 they sharpen them.
