Peace through superior firepower |
Reading the article, this is the best thing that could have happened. If I lived anywhere near it, I'd be happy to see this. It makes you wonder how the fire started. Maybe it was one of the savages occupying it, or maybe it was someone else. https://www.foxnews.com/us/por...oned-bar-went-flames I'd say that much more of the same is called for- the fire, that is.

Back in the early 70's, some squatters...bikers.. took over a house and caused a lot of trouble in the neighborhood. As time passed, someone waited until they were gone for the day and dynamited the house. End of problem. 41

Funny how things like that happen. Pronoun: His Royal Highness and benevolent Majesty of all he surveys 343 - Never Forget Its better to be Pavlov's dog than Schrodinger's cat There are three types of mistakes; Those you learn from, those you suffer from, and those you don't survive.

Portland decades ago perhaps the best mid-sized city in the US. In recent times a disaster at every level with progressive democrats at every level of government. It has also attracted the lunatic left to move there. When the antifa, the military wing of the progressive, burned the courthouses, nailed the doors on the police precinct stations and set fires the elected politicos chanted "it's only property." Today Portland is a filthy drug zone with rampant serious crime. When I occasionally need to go there I think a 10mm is the right carry choice. It's a hopeless situation. Given the conditions many squatters live in (no electricity, heat, sewerage, or water) a burned out bar might be seen as a step up. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

That was in Albany, GA. It was the Outlaws and they outlived their tolerance when they beat an old woman's car with chains. I think it was around 1976 while the mall was being built so they were going to be displaced regardless. The house got dynamited with them in it. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! This incident was in PA around Scranton, PA IIRC. Four of us rented a house in Whitemarsh Township with one being a PA State trooper who told of the incident. The investigation didn't get much traction. 41

Ignored facts still exist |
If nothing else, it gave the Portland Fire Bureau some good practice for when something important catches on fire. There aren't as many practice burns as there used to be. Not sure why. Better use of their time than handing out Narcan / Naloxone all night long, which is their typical mission these days, now that hard drugs are legal in Portland .

A lot sure has changed since I worked there in 1974. While working for General Research, we designed a computer aided Dispatch Center for the Police/Fire Departments of Portland/ Multnomah County. The Dispatch Center was located in the Kelly Butte Civil Defense Center. The road going up to the Center in the winter required 4-wheel drive at times. https://www.oregonencyclopedia...l_area/#.ZEVv9UnMJhE 41
