Y’know....there isn’t a woman living here now (my two girls don’t count).
What about shop floor coating/sealers?
I’m a function over form guy anyway.....

jimmy123xIf you go with the floating vinyl floor, make sure to spend the money ($.70 a sq foot) and go with the very best underlayment. It makes a HUGE difference in noise when walking on it, shifting, and feel under your feet and durability of the floor.
I have one bedroom with this stuff (and another with the cheaper underlayment) that's almost 2 years old it is AMAZING underlayment

It can crack, but not easily. Porcelain is pretty tough stuff. My kids have dropped any number of heavy objects on it to no effect.

I had stained and sealed concrete floors in a modern looking loft once. Looked like this. It was pretty cool:
