That's what I use for crawling under vehicles changing oil as well as placing under motorcycles when lubing the chain. After oil gets on it, it's cut into strips for fire starter.

patwI also cardboard and the 2x2 rubber squares from Harbor Freight, for added cushion. When it starts getting old, I throw it away and buy some more. They are cheap.

shovelheadWhen I worked in auto dealerships we received bumper covers wrapped in a thin foam rubber with a slick plastic cover (green or blue) that allowed you some movement under the car or truck. It also works good when off roading in mud or snow to keep you dry.
