rbert0005Presure washer guys ??
I just picked up one and am asking just what kind of detergent I should be using on vinyl siding?
Yes I did read the manual, but no help here.
Thanks,
Bob
I am no expert, but think I am sometimes.

mutedbladeThere is some blue Zep stuff over at Home Depot that works well and didn't stain/discolor my siding. Think it was about $10/gallon
Here's the link

mcrimmYou may want to consider a soap cannon like this...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I use it to wash my cars. Look at YouTube for videos on it.
My DeWalt pressure washer tends to not regulate soap application where the soap gun does.

You shouldn't need any detergent if the pressure is adequate to remove the debris on the siding.
If you actually going to scrub siding and then a simple low pressure rinse then use a proper detergent.
Otherwise plain high pressure is generally enough.

PeteFThere are many concentrates for power washers. Really depends on what you are trying to clean. Algae, mildew, dirt?
Make a trip to the local HD. They carry a bunch. I recently cleaned my sidong, (mildew/green slime) using a house product by Simple Green. It worked very well.
Apply using low pressure nozzle, let sit then rinse with 40 degree tip.
Caution: Do not spray "up" into vinyl siding. You can tear off pieces in an instant. Spray straight in or down.

So, nothing above 6 feet gets cleaned?
The north side of my house gets really bad and turns green in about 4-5 months of I let it go. I tried all the products and and none work very well for me. I had to borrow a 18' extension to get close enough to blast the crud off. This was exhausting and time consuming and I still couldn't reach the top 10 feet of my house. I ended up buying a high pressure detergent injector from northern so I could apply a bleach mixture (JoMax) to the house and actually be able to reach the top. The low pressure setting doesn't get anywhere close and you don't want to run bleach through the pump. This worked like a charm. I was able to do my whole house in less than an hour.

bubbatimeHave you tried the pressure washer without detergent? In my experience, the pressure alone is usually all you need.

BigWhuphad a guy trying to pressure wash my gutters to get the black shit off. He would spray with bleach then PW to no avail.
He left, went to a local farm and ranch store and came back with a product by Purple called "The Right Stuff" and sure as hell it was!
Sprayed from a pump up, the PW.
