Were you a part of that shoot? It's extremely well done from the flying perspective. Great edits also.

The FAA waivers, and complexities of flying that shoot boggle my mind... It'd almost be cheaper to go to another country, and shoot it there.

Excellent FPV skills, with a lot of image stabilization post-processing thrown in. Maybe a slick cut, or two.
Still...it's pretty remarkable.

Nice. Wow, they don't have electronic scoring yet?

In college in the '80s, I took a bowling class. It was at an alley that didn't have electronic scoring, which was rare even back then. I was always scorekeeper in my group because so few knew how to score quickly enough.

This is how a viral marketing should be...

Is it staged, absolutely.
Is it entertaining, YES
Is in over-the-top acted out and annoying, No!

I would love to find this place and bowl a few strings of manually scored frames while sipping a nice crafted cocktail.. it totally worked for me!

Here's an article on the backstory of it : Here

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Good article.

Yes, it has to be staged, you can't fly over and around people any other way. Same for the shot over the street. That takes an FAA waiver along with flying over people. A shoot like this takes a LOT of pre-planning, and as people are rightfully pointing out, a talented and experienced pilot.

Thanks! Yep, one take. I was wondering about this -- "The only thing that was added in post-production was the audio and dialogue, due to the loud buzz of the drone."

Very cool!

From the backstory link:

quote:
Christensen says most of the questions he has received is about a portion of the video when he flies the drone through a tight space where the bowling lanes meet the pin machines in the back of the bowling alley.

That was my main question. I don't have a sense of how wide that space is, or how big that particular drone is, but it sure looked like a squeeze.

That video gives me a new respect for what some of those drones and their pilots can do.

Bryant Lake Bowl is a pretty cool place to go. The wife and I used to go there back when we thought we were cool for some late night drinks and food. This type of marketing fits them to a tee.

I scanned through the article, but didn't see how big (or small) this drone is. It can't be THAT big...

I'm a licensed commercial drone pilot and I can't for the life of me figure out how they can do that.

So far beyond my abilities and my drones it is hard to fathom.
