Would like to share this with the Board as it makes me proud and clouds my eyes.

My father dedicated his life to his work and his achievements influenced the whole world international trade
Coming from a peripherial country like mine it is almost incredible.

My father worked and developped policies in cuatoms and tariffs. Trascended our borders and was called by other countries to develop the Harmonized Systen at the Customs Co-Operation Council (currently World Custom Organization).
He’s recognized worldwide as the father of the HS.

I’ve been informed by his friends that the most prestigious argentinian university UBA,
along with a bunch of institutions dedicated to customs, tariffs and related policies dtudies and a regional (ALAD) integration organization are connducting a seminar on my father’s works and contributions.

Am so proud.

Congratulations on your Father's honor. As one that used to work in the shipping business I'm very familiar with Harmonized Codes for import / export. What an accomplishment, no wonder you are so proud.

It's not everyone who can say they influenced one country's policies much less several countries even.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

As I understand it, an analogy might be the Babel fish from Hitchhikers' Guide. In Hitchhiker's guide, you put the fish in your ear and heard everything in your own language.

The HS seems to be the way every country understands just what it is that's coming in/going out.

Multiparties conference with several countries Trade, Customs and Tariffs experts involved and some local old coleages.

Fond memories as i also grew up at the same time as many technical developments and specifications.

HS is currently in use by 203 countries.
