Rep. Crowley wants families separated at border to be 'compensated' Login/Join

I don't know which is worse, him or the nut case that he lost to in the primary.

Rep. Joe Crowley suggested his belief that the families who have been separated at the border for illegally entering the country should be compensated for the pain they experienced while speaking on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

“The damage that has been done to these children will be lifelong, to the families units as well and in fact, I suggest they need to be compensated for what this administration did to them,” Crowley stated.

“To have these children ripped apart and separated is one of the most reprehensible things I’ve witnessed in my twenty years of service here in the House of Representatives,” he continued.

The New York Congressman is referencing President Trump’s “zero-tolerance” policy that essentially ended “catch and release.” Instead, under Trump’s policy, people who were apprehended trying to come into the country illegally were separated and held until their hearings, whereas under previous administrations, those who were caught trying to illegally cross the border were released and expected to show up to their court date.

Crowley, who has been in the House for nearly twenty years, lost his primary to the up-and-coming young New York Democratic Socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

He must be pretty selective on what he witnesses if this is one of the most reprehensible. I wonder why he didn't speak up when this was happening under Obama? Idiot.

well the problem of these children being ripped apart is one that I wasn't aware of

since when did we resort to quartering kids?

parents and other assorted criminals I think would be a good idea, you don't have to worry about them coming back and committing another crime

didn't know we did that to kids

I think we should test it out on politicians to see if it could be potentially cruel and usual for the horses

So Rep., you want to jail the children? Really that's what you want to do you cruel SOB? HHS housing them until family members can be vetted to take them into their homes is worse than going to jail?!?!?

I'm all for it lock the children up in jail with their families until we can deport them as a family unit. This way they don't disappear and get to stay here with their cousins or Aunts.

I really can't believe they think it's better to imprison kids than to be under HHS care.

So, Mr. Crowley, I've seen families "ripped apart" when I worked in the state Prison system.

I saw Children visiting their father in Prison, because Dad broke the law and got sent to jail.

Hey Joe, talk with someone who works for CPS. Ask them about the kids who are "Ripped apart" from their parents and put in foster care because dad or mom broke the fucking law.

Was going to post the same thing. I am completely good with compensation. As long as he pays it personally if he feels so strongly about it.

Other than that, don't go away mad, Joe. Just go away.

I was at a BBQ when this guy started a mini-rant about this topic. I had to clue him-in on what you just described and how there's no difference than what local LE agencies deal with domestic cases. The overwhelming numbers of unaccompanied minors ICE is dealing with is only exception and that should be the red-flag/WTF for the media instead it's the optics rather than the entire situation.

Not to mention what is done to kids still in the womb every day in nearly every city in this country.

I agree with him. They should be 'compensated' with a 'free' ride back to the border and free kick in the ass as they are escorted over the line.

So let me get this straight... a piece of shit from New York wants illegals detained and separated legally, and for the children’s protection, to be compensated federally for being caught committing an illegal act? How about he floats the idea that the state of NY foot the bill and see how his ex-constituents feel about it?

I can tell you how I feel about it as a tax paying American but I’d be preaching to the choir I suspect.
