Nickelsig229Restoring a headlight
I sand and polish, once it's crystal clear I use a 2k clearcoat aerosol. Pretty sure you can get it anywhere like amazon.
Eventually the sun will beat the coating but this has lasted me more than 5 years on one of my old trucks.
Depending on cost of headlight some times 50 bucks for a new housing is worth it over sand and polish.

RipleyAs good as the Cerakote is, the sanding is kind of a pain with the included pommel(?) and small sanding sheets - 1000 and 3000 grits.
I bought standard 9"x11" sheets. Fold in half and tear. Fold each half and tear again leaving four sheets of a given grit. Fold each piece into thirds that are much easier to control and can be refreshed by turning or refolding.
You'll have plenty left over if you need to refresh the headlight.

This is the best and longest lasting. 4 coats. Key is removing the oxi, work down to the finest wet sand you desire and clean them thoroughly. Be sure to tape off the whole area surrounding the light so no over spray issues. The stuff can go $25.00 to $ 45.00 per can. And yes, it will hold up nearly 5 years.
