There are several towns around here with large Polish populations; I'll have to try to find someone.

Do you have any old pictures or paintings with any sort of landmark in the pictures. A castle, a business, something? That might help narrow it down and find it by a geographical item versus name.

My wife traveled extensively in Eastern Europe, the Baltic States & Denmark. She was head of the largest multi-language library in Europe & understands most Germanic & Slavic European languages. She substantiates much of what has been said here & says it is definitely Polish & probably the town that has the Vodka distillery (she knew of the Vodka). Ancestry.com will likely be your best source of Ellis Island info.
