let the haters start hating. But deal with it, the best 2 teams in the USA are GA and Bama. Now, in all fairness, I think UCF has earned some cred and some consideration in this matter, but to be considered you really need to play a team ranked above #20 during the regular season. They beat AU, good for them, but AU is not the best team in the nation.

Well, the SEC has the Aggies. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Agree, that if UCF had a stronger schedule, they may have gotten into the playoff, but the irony is that UCF just beat a team (Auburn) that beat both teams playing in the title game.

Interesting enough the new College playoffs were able to undo the favoritism that prevailed for decades in the good old boy program that picked the national championship game teams using advertisers, sports writers etc. Under the old system you would have never seen two teams from the same conference, SEC, Big10, etc in the national championship game, and there have been times in the past where that would have been the proper game, but it could never happen. Bama clearly out classed Clemson, who showed they were not the number 1 team, never getting into the end zone. Bama certainly made up for last year, and the fat guy touchdown was excellent. Rose bowl was an excellent game, one of the best I've had the pleasure to watch.

This was the point I was going to make, and Coach Frost made as well. The BCS will never be about the best team. It's about matching the teams to draw the biggest audience. Just look at the Outback Bowl. Two unranked teams??

Bama plays teams like Louisiana-Lafayette, the Citadel and Arkansas State. So they do take on some non-conference "warm up" teams. Every SEC and Big 10, etc., team plays non conference opponents, and some are a challenge. I believe it to be incumbent upon teams like UCF to schedule some non conference games against top tier teams, since they will be the ones locked out of the playoffs (like this year) if they choose not to schedule themselves harder. I can't see that, out of all of the top 25 teams, they couldn't find a single opponent willing to play them on a home-home schedule. Maybe I'm wrong, I was wrong at least once before according to my lovely wife. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. Hard to argue for UCF as a top team. I don't know if they could have gone undefeated playing in the ACC, SEC, Big 10, ect. Every team that made it to the playoffs got there by playing top 25 teams on a consistent basis. Playing Austin Peary, East Carolina, and letting Memphis score 55 points on you does not make a #1 ranked team.

2012 National Championship Game (Pre-Playoff BCS) was between Alabama and LSU. ------------------------------------------------------ Though we choose between reality and madness It's either sadness or euphoria

I think he was referencing before you had a national championship game, ie before the BCS - when all you had were bowl tie-in games and sometimes had the #1 team playing the #14 team and the #2 playing an unranked team. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams
