bendableBendable #1 feel good post of 2025
I got asked to narrate a 25 minute play about
the birth of Jesus , there were 10
characters and me.
I had 10 pages of lines,
My first experience at this ,
and up in front of 40 or so
people.
I got through it with only a glitch
or two. and the pastor finished the service.
Well, I guess I did better than I thought as
9 people I didn't know made it a point to go out of their
way to congratulate me on a very good job and another dozen
came by to
offer positive reinforcement.
It felt wonderful, weird, but wonderful.
The pastor was very generous with his praise.
So mark it on your calendar, I was good for something in 2025.
Good feelings, they feel good
I've forgotten them.
Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency.

Congrats on a job well done. I always enjoy your posts even if once and a while they go over my head.

Captain MorganThats great.
I for the first time a couple weeks back had to give an update of our missions trip to West Virginia in front of the congregation - twice. Both times nervous but the second time was better.
Anyway, we gave out 290 Thanksgiving dinners.

Whether you realize it or not, you are good for a great many things. You share selflessly with those around you. I hope you have many more good feelings in the years to come.

SPWAMike0317Congrats, anyone who summons the courage to speak or perform in front of a group of people deserves kudos.
As for the glitches? I'll pass along a secret from a public speaking course I took a long time ago: Only you know what you are going to say. If you mess up, no one knows unless you let them know. Continuing with confidence makes the glitch transparent. (Thank you Ralpha Senderowitz, this gem of wisdom helped me a great deal).
Let me help you out. Which way did you come in? December 15, 2025, 10:58 AM
drill sgtCongratulations on a job well done..... Have they asked to do a repeat performance next year yet ??? ............. drill sgt.

400mCongrats bendable. I can’t speak to an audience without screwing it up. More than once I’ve embarrassed myself trying. I will not give a speech, interview, or eulogy.

Rey HRHI refuse to believe it’s your first feel good post of the year.
But congratulations. Reading lines in front of people isn’t easy.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

OutnumberedGood on ya for doing that Bendable. I’m glad to hear that you got good feedback which made you feel valued, because you are. Both here, and many other places, I’m guessing!

bendableI had the easy part ( in my opinion)
I was behind a podium on a stool.
I didn't have to wear a costume, or walk around a hit
a mark on the floor.
So no visual presentation involved.
