Many years ago, we were sitting on the old broken down discarded couch next to the FBO shack at a country airport, sipping cokes and watching a newly soloed student in the pattern.

He came down final for the last time that day, and went bouncety bounce bounce down the sod runway.

He managed to get it together well enough to taxi up to the tiedown spot, shut down, and stagger into the office, where the dour old instructor asked, “are you going to log all those landings?”
