There's a gadget: https://www.autostopeliminator.com/

Or, you can YouTube it and find which pins on the back of that pushbutton to jumper together.

I figured there was a hack, I was hoping there was a factory option. Isn’t there a possibility Ford might deny some warranty claims if you disable it using a jumper or the gadget above or any other hack?

Read the fine print that accompanies the device at the link. It will specifically tell you to remove it before any dealer service work is performed.

As of an hour ago I am the owner of a brand new pickumup truck....

2019 Ford Ranger SuperCrew 4x4 Lariat in Lightning Blue.

Sticker $46,430
Dealer Discount -$4,430
Trade in Assist -$1,000
Retail Customer Cash -$2,250

Original Sale price $38,750. Would liked to have gotten to $38,000 but they did better than expected on my trade, so I considered it fair.

Trade was 2015 F150 SuperCrew XLT. 59k miles, KBB trade value showed $23,250 considering the “parking incidents” my wife has had (previously estimated at $5,500 in body/paint work) and about 5000 miles away from needing new tires, I was surprised when they went $18k for the trade. Of course telling them that the competing dealer had already offered $18k Wink for my F150 might have helped Cool

Optioned out well. FX4 package probably could have done without, but seems all of the Lariats in this area come that way. Only thing I need is a tonneau cover. With retirement 4-5 years out, probably will be the last truck I buy.

**ETA**

**BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!...**

Sunday night adding the Ranger to my “FordPass” app I went through the messages backed up in the app (that I really never use). Turns out in July I got a message for a “Private Cash Offer” of $1,250 on a new Ranger must take delivery from Dealer stock before 9/30/19. More importantly though, it *CAN* be combined with all other public offers/incentives.

Called the dealer yesterday morning 5 min after they opened to ask about it. He researched it, said I qualified and would add it into the paperwork package. On my way home from work today I stopped and signed the form and should be getting a check from Ford for the $1250 in 3-4 weeks. Easier and much faster to do it that way than to re-do all the paperwork

So, the adjusted final price was $37,500 with all the rebates, etc. or $8,930 below factory sticker. I’ve gone from happy with the deal to ecstatic with the deal. The extra $1,250 will be more than enough for the folding hard tonneau cover I will be putting on it.

This message has been edited. Last edited by: 911Boss,

Looks like a nice truck. Enjoy. Although I'm a Tacoma man myself. Smile

Oh, and I saved another $30 since I had half a dump load in the back of my F150 under the tonneau. They said they would take care of it for me.

It's a nice looking truck. I like the color. It should make you happy and serve all of your needs. Look forward to hearing a range report once you put some miles on it!

That's a nice truck you have there Boss and you seemed to have negotiated quite a fair price on it. I'm like you (or your wife) in that I simply am not interested in having to maneuver a full size SUV/Truck on the narrow roads and parking lots I routinely drive on.

Sweet!

Now is it going to be a TRUCK, or is it going to be one of those on road, washed, waxed, and doted over 'TINOs' (Trucks In Name Only)???

Ha! Never heard that phrase before, I like it.

Mostly in name only, but rain/shine/snow I have to be able to get to work, so having a 4x4 is a must. Go up in the hills on the Forest Service roads a few times a year for shooting or a camping trip or two.

Mostly commuter and around town along with trips to Home Depot or Lowe’s, same as the F150 was.

For my wife the big plus is (hopefully) easier navigation in parking lots and fewer “Oopsies!” along with more similarity in cockpit/controls with her Escape.

For me, the big plus is being on par tech wise with the Mustang and Escape and my wife (hopefully) having fewer oopsies...

Congrats. It’s quite a nice truck. Harris in Lynwood is a pretty good dealership. I have a friend from Oly that only bought from there. And he bought a lot of cars.

Super happy for you 911. Now it’s time to get some chains and plan for the lighting in Leavenworth. It quite amazing and fantastical if you haven’t been at Christmas time.

I’ve actually bought from them before, been awhile though. Seems they are under Pierre umbrella now. Not a fan of Pierre, but that was probably 20 years ago. Funny thing is where Pierre screwed me, Harris helped on a warrranty claim.

We’ve actually been talking about going to Leavenworth this year. Chains? Don’t need no stinkin’ chains, I gots a 4x4 Roll Eyes

Enjoy!

Big fan of Bickford, that’s where I bought my Mustang and where I test drove. They didn’t have the blue in stock, and they are closed Sundays.

They will be the one to do service on it though...

The charged air may be water cooled. The turbo itself is oil cooled. It just wouldn’t work with water. It’s way too hot to water cool a turbo.

You do realize that I run (as well as maintain) Marine turbo diesels almost every day of the week from Cummins to MTU, to MAN, to Volvo,to yanmar, to CAT to everything in between. From 300hp-2600 HP each, and the turbo's are all water cooled on them except for some reallllllly old motors. Everything from a lowly 6BTA cummins to a 2600hp MTU 16v2000 has water cooled turbo's in the marine industry. So yes, you can water cool a turbo and it is done on diesels all of the time. You can't have the heat generated by a turbo heating up the engine room on a yacht or ship. Also unless you have a decent load on a turbo, it's not generating that much Exhaust gas temperature......so driving around at 1/4-1/3 throttle at any rpm is going to have less than half the EGT's of being loaded down with your foot on the floor.

Edited to add: The 2.3L is the first ecoboost engine to have a twin scroll turbo. But it's not water cooled.

Great looking truck. You should drive it in good health!

Question: How is the driver's seat, in terms of leg room for somebody with really long legs? Does the seat go back far enough for a long-legged guy like me (36" inseam)? Headroom is never a problem, but leg room is inadequate for me in most vehicles.

I am considering a mid-size pickup. I read that the Canyon / Colorado has 45" front seat legroom, I find that hard to believe, I'll have to stop by a dealer and sit in one. Most vehicles spec somewhere around 41", maybe 42" for front seat legroom.

I don’t know how legroom is measured, never a problem for me at 5’8”. I’d be happy to bust out the tape measure if you tell me the two points to measure. Pedals to edge of seat? Pedals to bottom of seat back?
