I remember my very first hard drive. I have a Macintosh SE, and got an external 40MB spinning hard drive (I think - either 20 or 40, and that's right, MB, not GB). It attached to the back of the Mac SE, and I think it was marketed as "backpack", although a quick Google search didn't come up with anything.
Fast forward to the "modern era". A few years ago I built a "shoebox" Mini-ITX form factor PC. I ordered a 2TB SSD from Amazon, and received a 500GB. They replaced it but didn't want the 500GB one back. I was going through stuff today and found it.

Box is open, but it's never been used.

Nice karma! Wanting to upgrade my wife's laptop from HDD to SSD. This would help.
Thanks!

Adding: Please make sure this fits your needs. There are different "flavors" of SSDs. I think "M.2" is what tells you if it physically will fit your system.

I think I read they start sundowning Win10 next year so I'll need to build some new machines that are Win11 compliant in the near future anyway. Please add me in and thanks for the chance.

I'm in, thanks for the chance, and may tons of good karma come your way!
If anybody is interested, I'll probably mate it to a Pi5 I'm building.
M.2 refers to the slot it plugs into, this would normally be found on an expansion card that plugs into a PCIe bus slot, although some newer mainboards have M.2 slots, as do some SBCs. For Raspberry Pi's, you'd need a "HAT" to integrate it. Length of the drive also matters, they come in standard lengths, most of them are 2280 (22 mm wide x 80 mm long).
The OS must support NVMe (and the specific version of NVMe the drive is).
This drive will not connect to a standard SATA interface like older SSD drives. Folks with systems more than a few years old will have to buy an add-on card or external housing to use it.

I could 'really' use this M.2 SSD, so please include me on your generous Karma! Thank you for the chance, Sir!

Dang. Add me in. I could use this. I'm about to start editing some drone footage and my current M.2 & only storage is almost full. I usually have to delete a game if I decide to install or play another.
I do have a open M.2 slot on my motherboard.
