Apparently I am still on the short bus with 934 days. That being said, still happily married and loving every lap of our rock around the sun.
I was warned I would miss the action and excitement…boy howdy apparently those idiots didn’t know who they were talking to!

Worked at the same company for 36 years.
Didn't realize how much I hated it until I left.

It’s complicated…
As of today, I have been paid to not work a total of 1528 days.
The first 257 days were paid admin leave pending an investigation.
The next 631 days I collected state retirement pay while “exiled” and going through arbitration for improper termination (decided in my favor)
After 111 days of being “reinstated”, I hit the magic 30 year mark with my employer allowing me to retire in good standing and with better retiree benefits/pension.
It has now been 640 days since retiring by my own choice. As far as I am concerned every day I didn’t work but receive payment for counts as retired.

2 Left my job on Friday. Does it mean I am done working? Dunno yet. For now I’m calling it a summer vacation. Will know more at the end of the year.

sigh.
i have 1848 days before I HAVE to retire. I plan on retiring in 1840 days just so I don't risk going over and losing interest on my deferred retirement option plan. I'll be 56.5 years old.
i could have retired 1075 days ago. But I entered the drop thing.
Not minority enough!

1,716 days since officially retiring. 1,844 days since I turned in all my gear and went on leave to burn some time. Still sold a chunk of vacation when that ended. Also had a lot of sick leave which, while I don't get paid directly for it, it does add to the time for calculating retirement.
I was fortunate to be able to be to help my father during his last year or two of life without having to juggle work responsibilities. Dad passed a little over 2 years ago at 105 years of age.

2222 at 55. I liked my job but I don’t miss it in the slightest. Best thing I ever did other than family things.
