Usually get my FoodSaver bags from Costco when they have a coupon. Wondering if anyone has found a better price somewhere else or a better option rather than using bags from FoodSaver. Thanks.

I've not been impressed with FoodSaver, either their bags or, machines. Their machines seem to break-down too often, the seals don't last or, the vacuum isn't complete. See a lot of them at garage sales....could be a clue there. That said, I'm currently searching for other options. I wonder, if there's a price threshold where going below a certain price-point on home food sealers, you get into too many design/function compromises when compared to a commercial machine.

I use to buy the brand name bags too. I got these from Amazon and have had no issues and will buy again. 2 Pack of Vacuum Sealers Unlimited - 11" x 50' Rolls For FoodSaver, etc. - Thicker, Heavy-Duty Commercial Quality Textured Vacuum Sealer Bags - BPA Free https://a.co/d/dWkGN13

Guess been lucky so far. Had an old FoordSaver machine that has lasted forever, and forever. Still have it but it was on the loud side with my daughter working from home that I bought a new one couple years ago that is much quiet. Myself, never a problem. None. But now that I said this may of jinxed myself.

Thank you ! I just took a look and like what I see so far. Gonna do a comparison. I am not a big fan of third party on Amazon ... at least want Amazon to be the shipper.

I use the 100' roll from Out of Air. I'm on my second box and like them . They claim to be thicker. Maybe so, have worked so far. https://outofair.com/vacuum-sealer-bags

I Deal In Lead |
I've been using them for over 25 years with absolutely no problems whatsoever and I know a number of other people who have had similar experiences. And I use them on a regular basis, probably twice or three times a month and when I do, I'm usually making a dozen bags or so, so it's obvious I'm not a casual user. Foodsaver made a couple of cheaper models that I heard people had problems with but I have no personal knowledge of that. I get the mid priced ones...I'm on my second. I've used mostly FoodSaver bags but I've also used some from Amazon and they worked as well as the FoodSaver ones. I've got stuff in my freezers that I sealed 3 years ago or so and they're still perfectly sealed.

I noticed recently that Costco is carrying their own Kirkland branded sealer bags now. I haven't tried them yet but looks to be a similar package as the FS with rolls and pre-made bags included. I've tried 2 or 3 different pre-made quart bags from Amazon and all have been fine. I mainly seal my steaks and chicken from Costco and defrost in a sink full of water - they've held up for that purpose as well as Sous Vide reheating sealed pulled pork.

I have had my Food-Saver for decades, and use it a lot. I did purchase a set of new seals($2.00)and now is just like new again. I am on my second order of rolls from out-of-air and they seem to be a bit thicker and work 100%. I will most likely stay with them unless I can get a smokin' deal on Food Saver bags. I bought some rolls off of e-bay and was not pleased with them at all.

I'm very pleased with this company. It feels like a step above FS. https://www.meatyourmaker.com/preserve/food-sealer/

I prefer the roll rather than pre-cut bags. The FoodSaver bags I have always bought from Costco were a combination of different sized rolls and pre-cut bags. Found that my uses were mostly the 11" wide bags that I can cut to whatever length I needed. Believe I am going to like the 100 foot roll.

I've been using these bags from OutofAir for a couple years, I think you'll like the quality of their product.

The other thing that surprised me about my order from OutofAir was the free shipping and no tax ...

Today I was at Costco. First time to see they had the Costco Kirkland brand of the food seal bags. I picked up the combo box : (4) rolls 11" x 16 ft, (3) rolls 8" x 20 feet and (50) pre-cut one quart bags 8" x 10". Cost was out the door (with tax) $27. Gonna compare with the OutofAir 11" x 100 ft roll that I just ordered for $27 out the door delivered. At first glance, without doing the math, appears to be close equal to each other regarding volume.

From a pure volume of product it looks like Costco gives you about 40% more. Correct me if wrong.

At first blush, I thought so too ... and agree with you. But since I had already ordered the 100 foot roll, now I have the chance to first hand compare the FoodSaver, Costco Kirkland and OutofAir bags. Report to follow.
