Nothing important to say, just that I live in rural East Anglia where, if it DOES snow, it's usually in mid to late December. Anybody else got unexpected winter weather?

It actually got chilly in NTX...chilly as in high 30s low 40s, it's a bit early for that....but I am loving it. The farmers almanac says it's to be colder than normal but dry here, after last year (serious power outages here in Texas) I am taking it a bit more serious. What are they predicting there? With all the noise regarding energy costs and the EU / UK wearing the "green" blinders what are the locals saying about this winter? read and article yesterday mentioning besides the Chinese pushing to corner the market on coal and Nat gas they are telling their people to start stocking up on food stuffs. 2022 the year that made 2021 look good?

I briefly lived in East Anglia in 1979 when I was involved in rehabbing offshore gas platforms in the area. I lived in Acle and my office was in Great Yarmouth. I miss the beer there.

We commonly have first snow around the autumnal equinox, and we’ve had several very light snowfalls since, including yesterday and overnight. But it seems to be starting off slowly this year. That’s not unprecedented, and sometimes it stays relatively dry all winter while other times the snow catches up after the first of the year. Skimpy snow is always a matter of concern for its impact on the wildfire season in the summer. “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz This life is a drill. Back in New England where I used to live it was very rare to get snow in November. About 30% of the time we might have a white Christmas but the real winter weather didn't start till mid January. That said, I can remember at least 2 Halloweens where there was snow on the ground when we trick or treated.
