Never liked the G30. The grip is just too small for my hands. Had a G21SF but traded it to my best buddy. Good gun, but Glocks just aren't my thing. _________________________ "Age does not bring wisdom. Often it merely changes simple stupidity into arrogant conceit. It's only advantage, so far as I have been able to see, is that it spans change. A young person sees the world as a still picture, immutable. An old person has had his nose rubbed in changes and more changes and still more changes so many times that that he knows it is a moving picture, forever changing. He may not like it--probably doesn't; I don't--but he knows it's so, and knowing is the first step in coping with it." Robert Heinlein

Well, that settles that... I stopped by my favorite LGS and they didn't have ANY Glocks in .45 Just for gits and shiggles, I asked to look at an M&P Shield in .45 Felt pretty good, pointed nice, trigger was comparable. Silver-tongued sumbitch behind the counter sez "If you rent one for a test fire and like it, the rental is deducted from the price of the gun." I did, I did, and they did. So now I've added an S&W pistol to my collection. Only niggle is that the slide release is VERY stiff, but I suspect that will loosen up with time. Be careful when following the masses. Well, it may help to remember that it's not a slide release... It's a slide stop. To release the slide, you can just pull the slide fully to the rear and let it go.

Well, yes, but even dropping the slide with the mag out takes quite a bit of effort. I'll need to exercise it. Darn it... Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.
