Why are you bringing up COVID? That has nothing to do with anything. Please stay on task. Thank you.

You implied that Hazelton, Cleveland, and Mayo are bell weather organizations to listen too.
After COVID and their role in this massive case of malpractice, and a power and financial grab all stemming from a WMD developed in China with American funding?
Not happening. I'll read and believe all the misinformation on the internet before I readily forgive what the medical profession and government did to the planet's population.
Back to the matter at hand, so you support the government deciding which mentally ill people get to live? Defend that position.

Todd HuffmanWho will decide? The patient would not be capable of making such a decision, so would it be the family? The government? The doctors?
Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago. August 14, 2023, 02:47 PM

How does a mentally ill person have the mental capacity to make that decision?
First thing that came to my mind.
It is obviously exactly the problem. How can a person who is incompetent make a knowing choice?
Is it possible to have some mental illness that makes you want to die without destroying your competence to make such a decision? I can't see it being the case, so it is hard to think there could ever be a mentally ill person who could consent.
And one might note that physically competent people can kill themselves without assistance. There are ways to kill yourself that are reliable and will not cause any more pain than a lethal dose of drugs given by a medico. Without intending to be a smartass, do they really want to kill themselves if they need help to do it?

Simple, pass some laws that allow for it in those cases, you get a judge who hands down a ruling who then passes it to a panel of people appointed by the government, to hand down a recommendation on who to save and who to end, which goes back to the judge to approve.

Perhaps you should read my postion which was clearly stated. It stated I DO NOT SUPPORT EUTHANASIA. It is in the beginning of the thread. You seem to have trouble staying on topic.

I wonder if anyone recalls my mentioning at some point in the past, that we have a vague and little-noticed rule about politics in apolitical threads?
Does anyone recall my mentioning this, say, oh SIX BILLION TIMES????
Also, does anyone recall that I mentioned recently that since this seems to happen constantly despite my non-stop admonishments, that I would start handing out disciplinary action in an effort to get my point across?
Anyone? Does anyone recall any of that?

A lot different. The Nazis favored wholesale euthanasia. Did you read the referenced story of the girl who had refractory PTSD? Again, I do not agree with euthanasia.

More extreme maybe, however we (as in many states if not all in the 50's and earlier) did some things that we would not consider good today,

sig2392The old catch-22.
Anyone see the movie or read the book?
This is not a slippery slope, it is a slide to euthinizing anyone that does agree with the state.
Russia and now Iran called anyone not agreeing with the rules mentally ill.
Now in Iran, if a woman intentionally shows her hair she is mentally ill.

Yes, this is going to end well.
