If you like cast iron, there is a Lodge Factory Store in South Pittsburgh, about 25 minutes west of Chattanooga. Good deals on factory blemishes that are indistinguishable. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Make sure to try the calamari at Alleia’s. To me it’s the best in Chattanooga. Whatever y’all end up doing be safe and have a good time.

Skip the Chatt Choo Choo - tired/worn out. Urban Stack for awesome burgers and drinks. Great stuff Aretha Frankenstines for Breakfast. Get there early as there are only 8-10 tables. Awesome dive bar. Pancakes are un-real. Aquarium is a must see. Art museum is pretty good. Andrew Duty is the sublimest word in the English Language - Gen Robert E Lee.

Get a sub at Ankar's Hoagies on Brainard Rd. Absolutely delicious. If you like books, CDs, or DVDs/Blu-rays, check out McKay's bookstore. Phone's ringing, Dude.

I'll offer another second for the Tennessee Aquarium. It's well worth the ticket price and is a well-spent 1 to 2 hours. If you like trains, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has a good collection of equipment on display but even nicer excursion trips that can be well worth your time. Rock City is my first vacation memory from childhood. Some of it looks about that old but it has some really nice views, especially on a clear, cool day. Point Park, the Lookout Mountain battlefield park, is nearby and has some good history and views. They updated the Battles for Chattanooga Museum a few years ago but we haven't been since then. If you have family with you, the Creative Discovery Children's Museum is located near the aquarium. It's been several years since my youngest outgrew it but it was an enjoyable experience. I have to agree with El Cid on skipping the Chattanooga Choo Choo unless your interested in the architecture of the old station and the limited equipment on display in the old terminal behind the main building. I'm not sure if the model train layout is still working but it was my son's favorite part of our visits when he was little. Finally, in my opinion, Ruby Falls is a tourist trap that isn't worth the cost or the time spent. *** "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam (I will either find a way or make one)." -- Hannibal Barca
