NY AG Letita James sues world’s largest beef producer for allegedly misleading on climate claims
The lawsuit aims to get the Brazilian beef giant JBS USA to stop advertising its goal of “net zero by 2040” and pay penalties.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a lawsuit against the world’s largest producer of beef for allegedly misleading the public about its environmental impact.

According to statement from the attorney general's office, James accuses the company, JBS USA, of “green washing.”

The company has said it would achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. But according to James, by planning to expand its production, it’s misleading the public on its commitment to addressing climate change.

“As families continue to face the daily impacts of the climate crisis, they are willing to spend more of their hard-earned money on products from brands that are better for the environment,” James said.

The lawsuit aims to get the Brazilian beef giant to stop advertising its goal of “net zero by 2040” and pay penalties.

JBS USA didn't respond to requests for comment.

She's apparently trying to single-handedly destroy businesses and therefore the economy of New York City.

The way to stop these lawsuits is just for ALL meat companies to refuse to sell anything to New York. THe INSTANT they discover profiteering from other states, cut them off too.

If I was in that company I would blame the new DEI hire that's dyslexic, the date is not 2040 but 2400.

When I lived in Chicago back around 1970, you could not buy meat in a supermarket on Sunday. It was a union thing. Butchers did not work on Sunday, so no butchers on duty meant that no meat could be sold.

There was a bar that we used to frequent, to listen to live music. They had a sign in the window: "No butchers served on Friday."

She's found a new revenue stream.

If you can't tax any more out of them; sue um.

Can't some lawyer fill a claim like "the intentional infliction of emotional distress" against this whacky broad. She needs to be on the receiving end of a law suit after all the distress she causes.

That is no loss, McDonalds is probably the most unhealthy food on the planet. I just wish that some reporter would have the stones to ask her which cheek on her butt has the Property of McDonalds stamp on it.
