Money won is sweeter than money earned |
I came across the Pool Cue Stick case doing a basement clean out. It looks to be at least 30 years old from some research I have done. It also looks New (Unused). Still has the original price tag and the key is still stapled in the clear bag it came in. It is a 1x2 for one pool cue. I believe it is black croc or gator. It's a beautiful case. I just can't find a lot of info on it. Thought maybe I would check with the forum. Well, when I first read the description I was thinking it was vinyl to look like leather then saw the maker and price tag. The maker is well known and tended to have over inflated prices at te retail level. One step further is the "where" is was purchased. Unlikely to be a small pool hall with a tag on it. Not likely to be a Walmart with that maker. most likely from a place which sold tables, ballz and cues. that means mark up could be reasonable or as high as "sell it the unwitting buyer who just spent $$$ on the ballz with black circles around the numbers." If it is gator and can be "proven", that tag might be a fair price to a player (I would likely pay that TBH). If fake leather, maybe 50% of that tag depending on feel of construction quality Look inside the chalk/glove pouch. Should be able to tell if vinyl or leather. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. I would contact collectors like these and see if they have more info or interest. If it is an "it's george" made bag for Brunswick promotion it might be worth something. That 165 price might be from the 80's so fast forward 40 years and some have sold and still sell for 500 usd. http://www.palmercollector.com...rgeCasesHistory.html https://nickvarner.com/ https://custombilliardcue.com/...ases/its-george-2x4/ you can google for others as well. It's worth a few minutes of research/conversations. First In Last Out

It’s an “it’s George” case made for Brunswick USA made Could be exotic hide or just embossed leather , they did them both ways The larger sizes are worth more , this is a one butt shaft or 1x2 2x4 would be more desirable It’s easily worth the price tag if in good condition I’d be interested if you pick it up and want to sell/trade for something I quit school in elementary because of recess.......too many games --Riff Raff--

George makes great cases. My oldest George is probably 30 years old is a 2 by 4. However mine is leather and not crocodile or alligator. I have no recollection of where I paid for it I actually got it from my cumaker Abe Rich A player looking for a single queue case would probably be more than willing to pay that marked price presuming that it is actually alligator or crocodile ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . Thank you! I will check these out. I am sure the price tag of $168.00 is the original price tag from the 80's or 90's and am thinking it should be worth more than that now. Appreciate it! _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"
