Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

For all you dog owners out there the new rabies vaccine is mRNA type. The package says (paraphrasing) USE ONLY ON HEALTHY ANIMALS.
My vet has indicated that many people are not happy with the concept of mRNA being used on their pets.
Might want to check with your vet prior to getting their next shot.

Do you happen to know who the manufacturer is and if the traditional vaccines are still available?

Yes, several manufacturers still offer the traditional vaccine. I do not even stock the mRNA vaccine. The "old" vaccine is proven highly safe and effective.

Did not know that mrna rabies vax was even a thing. Just had my pup vaxed.
If the type of vaccine says "killed" does this indicate standard vaccine?

Yes.

Damn mRNA is taking over the world. Based upon what I have see from the Covid fiasco, nobody and nothing I care about will ever get another mRNA based vaccine.

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

Slight drift, why do we have to give our doggos vaccines annually? Don’t they work in dogs like they do in people-once you’re inoculated you’re protected?

They make the vaccine with two labels (I was told by the vet), one year and three year. They are actually the same vaccine but labeled differently.
Some vets give the one year (labeled) version with the excuse it gets people to have the animal checked over once a year when they might not have preventative care done.
I had mine given the three year last time. Not just for the expense but so they weren't over vaccinated.

I'm stumped with the "Use only on healthy animals" labeling.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

The only recombitec, mRNA, vaccine we use is ferret distemper vaccine. After doing this for 27 years if something works good I don't change. We give lepto and lyme based on potential exposure risk, neither are very prevalent out here in the desert.

Another silly Govt. warning dumbed down to the lowest common denominator?
My WAG would be to prevent someone from giving it to an already infected animal although seems like a person licensed to give a Rabies shot would already be required to know that.

While I agree the concept has a lot to offer, the implementation leaves a shit lot to be desired. The Covid vaccine was filthy with other genomic materials including bacterial DNA.

If they can ever clean the process up and then demonstrate that the mRNA only does it's job and then disappears, they may have something.

Until then FUCK NO!
