Are you a Charcoal griller or Gas?
2 Weber Performer Deluxe and a custom stick burner. Rolled my gas grill to the curb over a year ago.

I used to have a gasser pre 2005 but I was continually replacing parts.
I picked up a BGE and in 15 yrs. replaced one part. It's heating up right now for a ribeye.

Charcoal of course. What's this 'gas' thing you mention?

2 green eggs and a Weber gas. BGE 90% of the time.

Hank Hill all the way. I will only do charcoal for a large gathering. Otherwise propane all the way.

Both depending on mood, season and what making ... natural gas grill, and two different size Weber kettles (22" and 14") using natural chunk charcoal (no briquettes) sometimes with apple, cherry or pecan wood.

Charcoal. Gas can never replicate the flavor charcoal gives.

Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints

I used nothing but Mesquite for around 25 years and finally got tired of it.

Now I'm a propane guy.

Charcoal. And only lump charcoal, at that.

The only thing I use propane for is to run my charcoal starter torch. And for that, one of the small green Coleman camping bottles lasts me months. (I do also have a small tabletop propane burner that uses the same bottles for backup emergency use for extended winter power outages, or for use while car camping.)

Using the torch, I can light my charcoal and get my egg up to temp just about as quickly as getting a propane grill up to temp. So you're not really giving up any convenience compared to a propane grill, while keeping the flavor. Plus the egg maintains temp better than a sheet metal propane grill, and there are fewer parts to break or maintain.

Another vote for charcoal. Others may be quicker/more convenient, but charcoal imparts more flavor. Most things that take longer are worth it!

For me it's neither, pellet grill. Wink
Auto start, set the temp and forget it.

I used to use a mix of everything based on what I am cooking. Since getting the Pellet grill It kind of took over most things and just about everything I used to use the BGE for so I ended up selling the BGE. Kind of miss it for Pizza's.

Has anyone used those Pizza cookers for the Pellet grills?

Any meat that costs less than 8.00 gets the gas. Anything more than 8.00 gets the charcoal treatment.

I grill with charcoal or cherry wood. For just quick and easy I use the kitchen broiler.

Charcoal. Im sure some will disagree but I love the flavor. I feel like if I was to do gas I'd just cook it inside personally.

Gas in the summer on the boat, charcoal in the late fall winter early spring. Just a matter of convenience. My husband got us a beautiful new little gas grill for the back deck of our boat a year or two ago. I love it.
