Anyone have this? Was reading Amazon reviews and was wondering if it really does have more advanced WiFi antenna than the regular Streaming Stick.

Our tv is located in an area with poor wifi reception. Would this Roku improve reception?

You need to fix the reception problem, Roku won't improve this.

As mentioned above, you really need to address your WiFi issues rather than hoping the Roku Stick would solve them for you. As an aside, I have a couple of the Roku Streaming Stick Plus' and they are terrific streamers.

I have a Roku Stick Plus and two Roku Ultra. The Roku Stick Plus works every bit as well as the more expensive and larger Roku Ultras.

However, as others have said you need to fix the WiFi. I've had my WiFi configured 2 ways for it and both worked well:
  • WiFi extender 2/3 of the way between WiFi router and Roku. WiFi extender configured as a true extender (100% wireless).
  • WiFi extender in same room as Roku. WiFi extender configured as an access point and plugged into wired network.

WiFi fixed using extender in same room. Nice that remote doesn't require line of sight
