I'm not a buyer of any Japanese cars anymore, I have owned Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus all were fine cars.
My SIL has had three Mitsu's and loves them, I've ridden in her SUV and it seems well made, tight, she loves them and never talks of taking hers in for service/warranty.
So that's my experience, they are a small player in the Japan car market here, mega big company known for ships, etc.
They make about a million cars a year, are number 6 in the Japan market

I saw the ad here in Denver too. Not quite that long, a 30 second spot. BFD, it's a commercial.

I tell you Martha the country is going to hell in a hand basket, with all these slackers today, and their open minded back talk, and whats with these ad's using that "rock n roll" to promote their products, don't they know good hard decent people don't want to hear that stuff, give me Benny Goodman he's a talented musician not that loud brash screaming music!
Whats with those kids with that "rock and roll" and their rolled up jeans, hot rods, cruising up and down main street blocking all the stores, nobody can shop! The police and mayor need to straighten this stuff up pronto, I pay my taxes, these kids don't even work!
Those kids are never going to amount to anything and I'll never buy any products they market with that Buddy Holly he sings that evil rock n roll.....
You kids get off my lawn . . .

I don't like rap, but the commercial doesn't bother me. Rap has been in/alongside mainstream for a long time now. Many people of various races grew up hearing it and they're now of car buying age. If you're targeting the under-30 crowd, IMO it's not unreasonable to include it in a commercial.
All that being said, rap IMO is just a way for people with no musical talent to have music careers as performers.

They made highly effective torpedos in the 1930's and 40's. (unfortunately)
No need to be sorry. You just aren't the target audience. I have learned it's not always about you.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I don't like rap either, but so what? I don't listen to it. No problem.
This is the first time I've heard about this 'c'rap. Maybe a tired joke to some, but it's not to me. So, thank you, nhtagmember. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 12131,
