Rap music to sell a vehicle? Sorry but I guess I'm not in the target audience. Wasn't able to embed vid.

You actually used the words "rap" and "music" in the same sentence?

If a car salesman started rapping during my test drive, I would quietly pull over to the side of the road and get out of the car...

Screw this "Rap" BS, it's a turn off for sure. Looks like Mitsubishi is romancing a certain segment of the population......It ain't me!

Whenever I hear "rap" I immediately flash back to all of the times I was targeted by large groups of ghetto dwellers solely because I was White. Therefore, I really hate "rap" with a passion.

Every time I see some White kids from affluent neighborhoods listening to "rap" I imagine what would happen if they were suddenly dropped at the corner of MLK and Roosevelt streets in Berkeley or Richmond, CA. If they survived and made it out to civilized society the next day, would they still listen to and enjoy the "music" of the animals that tried to kill them the night before?

I absolutely loathe the way rap and even most hip hop has permeated society. It’s everywhere

Really? I never hear it at all.

Then again, I don't get out much.

Did anyone else notice it was not from Mitsubishi corporate, but a dealer in Brooklyn (NYC). I can tell you, that will play very well with the customer base there. I've seen that spot running on the local stations.

I thought it was funny, with a nice "Eclipse" tie-in at the end... very creative.

I'm not sure I'd think so much of it if I were the one in the driver's seat, but from my comfy desk chair... I'll give the guy the points. Cool

God bless America.

It was one dealership - I assume they know their audience.

It wasn't Mitsubishi corporate - I would guess that it wouldn't make such an ad.

And sure, advertisers target different markets.

An ad aimed at someone other than me won't influence me not to buy the product.

The youtube may have been from a dealership, but this ad is from Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc

I saw the ad on a cable channel the other night.

http://media.mitsubishicars.co...reestyle-test-drives

CYPRESS, Calif. – Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced its "Harry Mack Freestyle Test Drives" are being transitioned from a social media campaign into a national broadcast spot and a larger marketing campaign.

The YouTube video, which has been a cult favorite on social media, captures stunned drivers and riders as freestyle sensation Harry Mack raps various vehicle features of the all-new 2018 Eclipse Cross.

The spots, which begin airing this week, include Mack lyrically touting a lengthy list of Eclipse Cross features including a dual-pane power-sliding panoramic sunroof, Head-Up Display, infotainment system and more.

"The Eclipse Cross has a reputation of being fun to drive so we took a fresh and contemporary take on this campaign to cut through the clutter and inspire a new generation of consumers to include Mitsubishi on their consideration lists," said Francine Harsini, chief marketing officer, MMNA. "The `Harry Mack Freestyle Test Drives' spot captures reactions from drivers and provides a fun and engaging way to highlight this exciting new product."

Dejavu all over again LOL Big Grin

I tell you Martha the country is going to hell in a hand basket, with all these slackers today, and their open minded back talk, and whats with these ad's using that "rock n roll" to promote their products, don't they know good hard decent people don't want to hear that stuff, give me Benny Goodman he's a talented musician not that loud brash screaming music!

Whats with those kids with that "rock and roll" and their rolled up jeans, hot rods, cruising up and down main street blocking all the stores, nobody can shop! The police and mayor need to straighten this stuff up pronto, I pay my taxes, these kids don't even work!

Those kids are never going to amount to anything and I'll never buy any products they market with that Buddy Holly he sings that evil rock n roll.....
