Seriously, if you’re paying the asking price, I don’t see why not. If you don’t buy it, the seller may not get any offer.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

It is a complicated question, for which there is no simple answer.

When you look at the choices from which to choose, you have to ask yourself, will I be better off after spending coin on what it is I am considering? Or will the question manifest itself long enough and I will end up regretting not pulling the trigger, after said item is sold out?

On the other hand, does what you are looking at come with a money back guarantee or warranty?

This is the answer our Government would suggest.

Personally, Ima' going to say Yes!

The Classifieds here on SIGforum is somewhere I find comfort buying a product. You have done a remarkable job of keeping the shitheads out.

Are there still issues? Probably, but I think most here agree, the Classifieds here, reign above all others.

I'd be asking myself,
If I have every thing I need,
Are there really any deals to be had ?

I don't see you being any kind of a hoarder.

So no. You most certainly shouldn't

doesn't mean you should

If you're trying to keep from buying yet another item that grabs you in the moment, no. The same as the rest of us, or most of us. Too easy to give into temptation.
If it's something you really want or need, I don't see a problem.
A willing buyer and willing seller.

As the owner of the site ---- If there was something listed that I really wanted or needed I would post that I would take it. It wouldn't be a "deal" priced item though. I would also never resell the item on the site or elsewhere unless it were the same deal or lower priced.

I probably would post exactly this..."Hey guys I could really use this" OR "I'll take it if there are no other takers in 24hrs"

SF is a pretty close group and if you posted either of these statements I doubt anyone would say anything other than enjoy it Para. I can't see anyone trying to take the item you wanted/needed unless it's a really new member.

Good luck. The search function here… leaves a little to be desired.

^^^ I agree with FLKev on this. I think most of us here have a pretty good idea of what you're about Para.

I can't see any of us legitimately questioning your ethics over wishing to buy as just another guy. I wouldn't give it another thought as it relates to a question of owner's favoritism or perceived advantage through your position among us.

The fact that you ask the question is proof enough. My apologies if I've missed the point.

This is my take, to an extent, as well.

I don't see anything wrong with it. If you see something that you need or want, I would go for it.

My thought about the matter is that if you are the first one who post "I will take it" on the Ad, the same rules apply.

I say No.

While the vast majority of users know who you are and that you wouldn't miss use your authority in any way, it still allows for the assumption of impropriety or introduces the possibility for some other scandal or trivial nuisance that would just add on top of your responsibilities.

If I were you, having done this 25 years and more without using the classifieds, at this point I would go to the end with that same policy.

It has not failed you.

I wouldn't pay it any more attention than any other well known member transacting in the classifieds.

And I agree with both Nickelsig and Yooper.
