I'm a reserve officer for a Bay Area city and each time I hear of a Line of Duty death, I lose a bit of myself.
We lost another one today, this time in Missouri - Officer Gary Michael was making a "routine" traffic stop: http://www.odmp.org/officer/23...officer-gary-michael

Frown

Every time we loose a cop to this kind of violence, we all loose a little piece of ourselves.

These men are truly the finest among us.

RIP Officer Gary Michael. And be safe, drew.

This was awful, and I hope the slimeball resists when he's caught. To be fair though, he is a white hoodlum and not part of what I consider the "war on cops".

This shit stain's motivation could easily be exactly the same though.

10-7. End of Watch. Officer Gary Michael has answered his final call for service. He's gotta be going to Heaven because he already worked in Hell.

This happened about 40 minutes south of us. We pass through frequently to go do gun shows or see the in-laws. Small town, around 10k.

What surprises me is they haven't caught the guy yet. But the town is in the middle of nowhere, large lake near there.

As long as the PC police, and the idiot politicians that bow to them, have their way...you are right.

If people would actually let us do our jobs... we would...

Good!

I have mixed emotions about it. Part of me wants to have these assholes shot resisting arrest. The other part wants gubbermint to strap them into an electric chair and throw the switch.

What is the average time spent on death row before execution? Whatever it is, it is waaaay too long.

At least twice a week, we have this discussion in roll call. I stress to my folks, never give up and never die without a fight. Personally, when I go, I want piles of empty brass, multiple blood stains from dead bad guys on the pavement and crime scene figuring out where to start first.

There are mixed opinions on our .gov here in MO. But the man has been NOTHING but supportive of LE here.

Bills have been introduced and laws changed to make LE a "protected class" with regard to crimes against them and increase the penalty as a modifier. Now, crimes against LE such as assault are the same as committing a crime against the elderly, children, or other "classes" of people.

Generally, it bumps up the level of crime that determines the sentence to the convicted criminal.

I'm not advocating this or speaking against it, just stating the fact.

Nearly immediately after he was sworn in as .gov, his wife was the victim of an armed robbery in the central west end of St. Louis outside of their house... Obviously, that didn't make him terribly sympathetic to criminals...

He has made many posts on his personal social media accounts calling for the fullest prosecution and sentencing of criminals that kill or harm LE.

I had my reservations about him as not ever having any political experience, but the man was an honest to god Navy Seal, a HUGE second amendment supporter, and all of his ideals seem to be in the right place.

He ain't pardoning violent criminals who are obviously guilty, and even less of a chance someone who attacks and kills an officer.

This guy will get the needle, and he should.

Hell, the same day as this story, we had this happen as well:

http://www.joplinglobe.com/new...8d-8f0d1b1f7ece.html

Two assholes literally threw IED's at officers who pulled them over...
