I have one in my shop, it does a good job,

kero is good too, but can be smelly, and honestly, the one I use in the garage sometimes, will get the room (20x22 or so, and insulated) so hot you will be standing there in shorts and a tshirt with the door open, when it is below freezing outside

I don't know if you did plug in 120v or hardwired, but 240v heaters are way better and more effecient, fwiw. If its done, its done, but if it doesn't work well that would be my first step.
