What is this thing?
One of the members of the old goats breakfast club found this in their bathroom junk drawer. Seems to be a solid stainless steel probe of some sort. About the size of a ballpoint pen. In a nice leather case. Neither he nor his wife recollect ever having seen it before. They’re the only ones who have ever lived in that house.

Not sure what that would be used for but it is designed to be carried in a shirt pocket and I suspect those serrations are meant as a grip of sorts. Interesting.

Maybe it is a tactical fighting pen.

Does anything unscrew or extend? It kind of looks like a pointer. Something that would be used during a presentation before laser pointers were a thing.

Is it magnetic by any chance?

I’d be tempted to agree with this.

Nothing extends or unscrews. It’s solid. Doesn't appear to have any type of insert on the tip-it’s nicely rounded and looks like it’s made of the same material as the body of the deal. It does have some sure-grip grasping grooves on the end, like it might be used in a situation where it would have to be pulled out with some force.

We did wash our hands before we ate our breakfast. No telling where such an item has been. Eek

Only things I found that looked close was with the end being magnetic to pick something up or a pointer that extended, but you ruled out the pointer.

Something has to unscrew, even if it's just the top part holding the clip in place. Could be something got in there sticking it together. Maybe warm it up some on boiling water first then try again.
I'm guessing it's some sort of a pen in there somewhere.

that's what i was thinking too. As they found it in the bathroom junk drawer. LOL

The best guess here was suppository dispenser / plunger though. I got a good giggle out of that one.
