Car wax recommendation

I've used Blackfire products and can say that they are the best I've ever used. EXX is right when he says the first application is a PITA, but the results are worth it. I've done both of my trucks (had one at a time) and both of my wife's Jeeps.

My current truck is a 2010. With the Blackfire polymer spray after almost every wash, it looks better than new! The dealer even asked me what I use.

Can't speak for Zaino and Rejex!

+1. Most all my cars got Pinnacle Souveran, especially the black or red ones. I used all their products clay bars, waxes, spray waxes throughout the years. I can no longer do the job and have it done now. I have a whole backpack full of their products I never got the chance to use after an injury. I sold my Rupes machine to a forum member here and the rest just sits.

Nobody mentioned Adam's products, so I'll throw in a bid. Not too expensive, easy to understand and use, and really good.

wash it
dry it
put the stuff on
and wipe it off
you can even do it in the sun

Be careful as people use "wax" generically when describing products. As others have mentioned a proper paint sealant is key. Blackfire is really good (albeit intended specifically for black/dark blue) and I used that for several years before switching to Wolfgang. That's a great product and easily sourced online, think now it's the 3.0 Paint Sealant and I've had tremendous success with it. When I traded in my burgundy '03 Yukon in December of '12, they graded the paint at 95% and the guy kept checking the paint with a tool in several spots to make sure it hadn't been repaired and repainted. Proper prep is key, and as everyone else mentioned, don't let it go that long in the future.

I have been a Zaino man for the past six years and three cars. Lasts a long time and is worth the work IMHO. Pick a system and stick to it. There are steps to all proper car washing and "waxing". If you want results be religious about the steps.

I'm lazy. Been using Opti-Seal for eight? years now. Every three months I reapply. Multiple cars. Spray on. Wipe off. Finally bought a second bottle. A little goes a long way.

jimmy, I would only ask in kindness before putting me in an awkward light again, understand that I'd be the first to do anything I can to help any forum member out as much as humanly or financially possible. These days however, at anytime I will be checking back into the Hospital for some serious complications and it is outside my better judgements to make any real commitments because of the seriousness of my condition. Honestly I'd personally like to keep this all personal and do not want to go into details. Matty has been notified of my situation and if I can help, I'd not hesitate, I just don't have a lot of flexibility at this time, it's out of my controls.

I like Zaino. Yes the first time you use it there are some steps that take a little time but really nothing to much longer then what your should go with any other product if you haven't kept up with washing and waxing.

If you have not waxed your car in a few years your really need to clay bar the car. That's going to take a little time. Then your going to want to apply a few coats of whatever your use.

I've found the most important thing to prep. Don't rush into throwing wax on a car that hasn't seen any in years. Best results will require some prep. A good wash and then clay bar will make a big difference over a quick wash and throw on some wax.

I have a 10 year old Honda red S2000. I have clayed it each spring when I take it out of winter hibernation.

Historically, I've used a number of Meguiars products with good results. Last fall I ordered a bottle of Klasse. Two coats later I was very impressed. The color was deeper and looked like new. I think I will stick with this for now.

I've used Zaino for about 15 years and it is great, lasts a long long time and you can layer it so the more coats you do the wetter it will look.

My supply is low and I'm debating trying Blackfire just to try something different but its tough because the Zaino results have been so good.

Zaino brothers wax is the absolute best. Period. They are a smaller outfit, have their own chemists, are located in NY, and really give a shit about the product they're putting out. It's all I use on my car.

Also, the owner is a close personal friend. He takes it personally when people use his product. If you aren't happy, Sal will make it right.

My regular wax is Meguiars Ultimate. On and off very easy. Does not stain plastic.

After getting a new car back in January, I have become a car detail junkie. I went with Meguiar's Ultimate kit to start with and even though the products are great, one always tries to find something better and longer lasting. I have been researching sealants from Wolfgang and Car Guys.

I started reading into Zaino products after your recommendation and although pricey for the amount of product, their instructions stress a little goes a long way. After I use the majority of what's left of my Meguiar's products, I'm going to invest in Zaino's kit and hope protection lasts as long as their description says. I'm sure it will, thanks.
