Look at Hoka. Try different models in the colorway you want.

This spring I bought a pair of Saucony Peregrine Gore-Tex shoes. I walk in wet grass or rain occasionally. I hope to get two years wear out of them. Because they were outrageously expensive!

I have good experience with the New Balance also. Have also used Saucony and Asics from time to time.

New Balance 412 v3 are what I've been wearing the past few pairs. It's their Trail Running Shoe so it's built heavier and tougher. I'm a big guy and walk a lot and they hold up well and are comfortable. They also come in Wide widths, a necessity for me.

Shoes are quite personal and I’ve got a bunch.

Here’s something you haven’t seen yet…

I’ve got a pair of GoRuck Ballistic Trainers Low Tops for walking and screwing around town…and rucking when my wife and I get around to it every so often. I like them and others say that they like them on me.

I pretty much wore all New Balance and have found the same issue as you. The non US made one crumble quickly.
I only buy US or UK made NB now when I can find a pair I like.
Check www.joesneebalanceoutlet.com it is New Balances clearance site.

I did recently buy a pair of Viktos they are very comfortable and have a very wide toe box which is great.
I have only had them a few months so not sure their longevity yet.

New Balance are ok. I tried Brooks. Hated them. I wear a 12 wide. I have found, for me, good ole’ Reeboks are the best for me. The Nano X1’s run wide and have about 15 different color schemes/designs in which I think plain ole’ black is one of them. They are a cross trainer shoe that holds up well in the weight room and on the treadmill.

UA makes a good pair that is normally $95 at Kohls but comes down to $70 often. I was a NB guy for a very long time and like them.

As far as sneakers, I pretty much exclusively wear Topo Athletic. While these aren’t plain black, there are a few darker more subtle color offerings.

I pretty much only wear their Trailventure shoes, but I have yet to be disappointed. I have been wearing these for about three years now. Quite happy with them.

You are probably onto something here. I have 3 pair of Lowa boots and they are excellent. I may have to get a pair of their shoes.

On Cloud walking/running shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have. My pair are wearing well two years into having them.
Not cheap nor are they available everywhere.

Wife has a pair also.

I like they all seem to have wide toe boxes, however they all seem to point your toes to the sky.

I've always like INOV8 shoes. They are minimalist but I'm not sure they have any in all black.
