b. Kicking back the canister is illegal? We have too many laws. Wayyyy too many laws.

Um, no. The police are within their legal rights to employ these devices, as per their training. This turd more or less committed an assault. On police officers.

I don't think the three counts of aggravated assault relate to the tear gas canister.

The police claim they were pelted with rocks and bottles, so I expect the aggravated assault charges stem from him throwing things.

He better have a good lawyer. If not, the groin strike is going to be just the start of his pain.

I guarantee you it will be factored in, or someone dropped the ball. It would be the same as if he brought one from home and threw it at them.

Glad to see they are finally prosecuting these violent protesters/rioters/looters.
In the past this has looked like a free pass for engaging in mayhem and encouraged more to do this. Throw a few of them in prison for the 20 years they deserve and maybe they'll get the message.

Looks to me like a phone in one hand. The other almost looks like a .38 snubbie or a .380, but if that was the case I think the police would have done more than just pepper ball him.

So since his face is covered and can't be used to identify him. I wonder if they can use the bruised balls as part of their identification process? Kind of like a tattoo. Since I would expect him to now deny it was him and say he was just kidding when he bragged on FB. Smile

I bet FB has probably made detective jobs a little bit easier. Aren't they basically confessions? Big Grin

Does the idiot work or he still live in his mom's basement?

If he works, there should be a counter movement out the lefty playbook and get him fired from his job. That's what they would try to do to conservatives.

One day I'm called out to Dick's at the local mall because they are having issues with their safe. As I'm standing at the customer service counter I hear my name, turn, and find myself getting an immediate hug from a girl that used to live up the street as a kid.

I haven't seen her in person in years but we are friends on Facebook. We make small talk for perhaps a minute then she asks me to watch her cart. She forgot her wallet in her car and is going to go out and get it. Next thing I know people are yelling, running, and as I look outside I see a vehicle speeding off across the parking long.

Come to find out she's a serial shoplifter. They knew who she was but up until then were never able to catch her in the act. Inside her cart were several articles of clothing that were ink stained from her removing the anti-theft device.

The police are called and the officer is working on his report. The manager tells him that I obviously know her since she had hugged me prior to making her escape. I don't know the officer personally, but do know him through another friend who's an officer with the same department.

They have buy/sell/trade pages on facebook and I often see posts from my friends on my feed. This girl always had a bunch of brand new, never opened, never worn stuff for sale. I was happy to point him directly to it. He said between Facebook and Craigslist they nab a good number of thieves in the area.

I encourage criminals to incriminate themselves online. Makes it so much easier for everybody else involved. And for those who don't incriminate themselves, it's still a great platform to post images and videos of the miscreants in action. It gets a lot of eyeballs which often leads to identification of those involved.

If I was to go to a rally for free speech or anything else, I would probably bring a gas mask (in a bag, not on my face).
These "anarchists" love to infiltrate peaceful rallies, run up to the cops and assault them, then run away while the little old lady with a cardboard sign gets tear gassed.
The G8 rallies were a good example. Unions and blue collar folks protesting TPP or NAFTA got gassed because of professional agitators.
If the stupid starts, my mask would get me out of there.
And I could see, to trip a few agitators, while they run away. Smile
